Joining Foust on the team is Emma Gilmour. Gilmour is an experienced world rally cross driver. The Fluro Papaya and Oceanic Blue on the Extreme E Odyssey car matches McLaren\u2019s theme on their Indy cars. The number 58 is a tribute to Bruce McLaren and the team will be allowed to use that race number as their inaugural entry into the series. Bruce used the number 58 in his first race in 1952, driving his father\u2019s Austin 7 at the Murwai Hillclimb in New Zealand.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4613\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/McLarenExtremeE_Overhead-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/>\r\n\r\n\u201cExtreme E is going to use every single driving skill I have, including stunt driving. There couldn\u2019t be a more challenging series when you think about the locations in which it races. I was a science major, so I can\u2019t wait to find out more about the legacy programme and see the travelling scientists in action. Emma has had a bit of a head start as she participated last season, so she knows more about what lies ahead but I\u2019m embracing the challenge of the unknown. Foust is one of the most popular and successful world rallycross drivers. He has been tapped by McLaren to race one of their Extreme E vehicles. McLaren announced in June, it would field an Extreme E team for 2022. A female teammate has yet to be named by the team to race with Foust.\r\n\r\n\u201cTo be able to race for McLaren is every driver\u2019s dream and the opportunity to compete for the team in this innovative and imaginative racing series makes it even more special. The concept is unique and the challenge compelling.
