Driving the No. 10 Ford Raptor for Team Papas and Beer, Ampudia crossed the finish line with a time of 8:12:29<\/span><\/strong>, averaging about 52.10 mph<\/span><\/strong>. <\/b>To top off the win, it was Mexican Independence Day and Ampudia is the local Ensenada hero.\r\n\r\nAmpudia was locked into a fierce battle almost to the end of race with top qualifier Toby Price. Price team went down with a flat tire, giving Ampudia the advantage and win. Both drivers were getting time split updates during the race that things could be close. Menzies started the race in third position behind Luke McMillin and Alan Ampudia. Ampudia would get taken out of the race with mechanical issues. All that was left for Menzies was to chase down rival Luke, which he finally did. Coco had a collection of guest books that contained signatures of travelers from all around the world. Coco was always full of advice and \u201cBaja knowledge.\u201d He spoke little English but could point you in the right direction of whatever you were looking for.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe original Coco\u2019s corner sat along a dusty road that connected small towns along the Sea of Cortez to Baja\u2019s main Highway 1. A new paved highway was built to extend Mexico Highway 5 to Highway 1. An effort was made to relocate Coco\u2019s Corner along the Highway, so travelers could still stop in and say and have a beer.
