A Friday round is being added to the schedule to accommodate a cancelled race that was rained out in Crandon in June. The triple-header will take place at Bark River Raceway in Michigan on August 9th<\/sup> -11th<\/sup>.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_7590\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Ryan Beat leads the Pro-2 field at Bark River International Raceway.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nHosting a make-up round for the series is vitally important because the season points battle is tight in several classes. Ryan Beat lead the Pro-2 class over Mickey Thomas. The two drivers are separated by just six points. Trey Gibbs currently enjoys a comfortable lead in Pro-Lite, but Gibbs needs to keep the momentum up to keep Johnny Holtger from closing in on the Championship. Nick Visser and Dylan Parsons have a close battle in Pro-Spec and Jordan Bernloehr just recently took over the lead in Pro Buggy over Lorenzo Bonacci. Billy Buth isn\u2019t far behind in the class either. Bark River will be an important weekend for the racers before the final Labor Day weekend rounds at Crandon.","excerpt":"

The track was near perfect. Fans packed the hillside for the final day of racing at the famous Upper Michigan track.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting races of the day was the Pro-4 class. CJ Greaves had the early lead with the rest of field roaring right behind him. Just after the mandatory caution, Jimmy Henderson came off a jump close enough to cause CJ to swerve into a guardrail. Henderson moved into the lead. Unfortunately, Henderson was forced into the hot pits allowing Adrian Cenni to take command of the race. Cenni drove his Pro-4 to his first 2023 win in the Championship Off Road Racing Series.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-2 class also put on another exciting race for the fans with tight door to door action. Points leader, Cory Winner had the lead until Mickey Thomas found enough speed to claim the win. Joining Thomas on the podium was Winner and Kyle Kleiman who was on the track for first time this season.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-Lite, Saturday\u2019s winner Brody Eggleston pulled off the track early with a damaged truck. Madix Bailey had the lead until Trey Gibbs took over. That was short lived as Gibbs hit a rut and rolled the truck. Both Bailey and Kyle Greaves took over the top positions. Following a successful Ice Scramble at the end of January the Red Bull Snow Scramble is the next event in the Red Bull Scramble series.\r\n\r\nCompetitors will push the limits of their UTV\u2019s at this winter fun land race. Winner has managed to gain more season points than Keegan Kincaid who looked unstoppable at the beginning of the season. All will need successful finishes at Crandon to lock up the season championship.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nSeveral racers saw a successful weekend at Bark River Raceway in Bark River, Michigan. CJ Greaves swept the weekend in Pro-4. He sits 25 points over Kyle Leduc. Keegan Kincaid secured a Pro-2 win on Saturday but Sunday\u2019s story was all about Jerett Brooks as he earned another podium and stretched out his points lead.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOver in Pro-Lite, Cole Mamer finally saw his first win of the season. Mamer has struggled for several rounds to earn the top spot on the podium. Sunday, Brock Heger fought his way to the front for the victory. Mamer, who started fifth ended up second on the podium at the checkered flag. Officials were forced to cancel the event citing Michigan\u2019s Coronavirus executive orders on gatherings, performances and events.\r\n\r\nThe group met on Monday and made the decision not to host a racing event. Michigan rules prohibit events to have no more than 500 people in attendance. The Bark River races traditionally draw thousands of fans.\r\n\r\nThe Lions Club released a statement that read:\r\n\r\nAlthough we are disappointed to make this announcement, we understand that the best interests of the health and safety of our club members, staff, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, racers, and race fans cannot be overlooked.<\/em>\r\n\r\nWe look forward to the summer of 2021 when we will provide our fans with the best professional short course, off-road racing in the country. Our commitment to host a world class event, and to the safety of everyone involved will continue to be a priority. But most importantly, the Bark River Lions Club will continue to support the projects and organizations that the proceeds from this event impact the most.<\/em>\r\n\r\nChampionship Off Road is moving forward with other events on the schedule including a race at Dirt City in Lena, Wisconsin, July 25th<\/sup>- 26th<\/sup> 2020.","excerpt":"
