\r\n\r\nThe series hosted a youth UTV race sponsored by 4-wheel parts. With 50 young racers participating. Chase Mankin took home a win in the UTV Y 250 class. Jacob Williamson won in the 170 Youth class. \r\n\r\nIn Saturday\u2019s pro-race, top qualifier Mitch Guthrie was out front with the holeshot. Guthrie was leading for the first four laps until he blew a shock causing him to fall back in the field. That opened the door for Ryan Piplic to take the lead. Piplic was being chased down by Dustin Jones until Jones lost power steering. Piplic would take the win. Jones still managed to hang on for second and Brett and Christian Sourapas finished third.\r\n\r\nOther winners in the other classes included Carson Wernimont, Braden Baker and Ryan Prosser.\r\n\r\nFull results can be found at Laughlin, Nevada was the backdrop for the Best in the Desert UTV Legends race. The 2021 edition of the Dakar Rally is currently underway in Saudi Arabia. Cars, bikes and trucks started Sunday morning in the town of Jeddah. \r\n\r\nKristen and Wayne Matlock are on the ground at Dakar competing in customized identical Polaris RZR Pro XP\u2019s. The Matlocks are entered in the Dakar Rally SSV class. \r\n\r\nPerhaps the most exciting part of the night came right at the end of the unlimited race. Phil Blurton lead most of the race. On the last lap before the finish, Blurton sailed off the track crashing and breaking an a-arm. Unfortunately, that accident cost him the win and opened the door for 23-year old Mitch Guthrie to take the win in his Red Bull backed Polaris.
