The team comprised of none other than Jett Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence and Kyle Webster grabbed the overall win. This is the first the win for the team. Australia is the native country for both Lawrence brothers. The event pits three-rider teams against one another from different countries. Jett was again won the points for the team in the Open and MXGP finishing second while Hunter was just two spots back. When the points were added up, the Australian team has the overall victory. Hymas was named to the US team just a few weeks ago. Hymas surgery will take place September 24<sup>th<\/sup> in Nashville.\r\n\r\nHymas had an operation on the same joint then tore his ACL in training as the 2024 season got underway. Despite the injury, Hymas continued to ride winning podiums throughout the season. Hymas re-aggravated his injury during the opening round of the SMX playoffs. Hymas then pulled out of the remainder of the playoffs, but after further consultation surgery has become necessary. Hymas can\u2019t risk only a two-week recovery period then competing in the in the Motocross of Nations. There\u2019s a strong chance of him re-aggravating the injury and putting the team\u2019s potential win in jeopardy.\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019m absolutely gutted,\u201d Hymas said. \u201cI have waited for the opportunity to represent my country at MXoN since I was a kid. I was proud and excited to wear the Red, White and Blue. I was doing everything in my power to be ready for MXoN, but I\u2019ve been battling issues with my knee this entire season. The team and myself decided the stakes are too high to take chances at the MXoN, and I need to get my knee fixed for the future. My sole focus now is getting back to top form and being prepared to compete for championships in 2025. I want to say thank you to Cooper for stepping up and taking my place. I\u2019ll be rooting for him and Team USA from back home. The riders on the team, Maxime Renaux, Tom Vialle and Romain Febvre won the event in Ernee.\r\n\r\nThe team saw success on the first day with Vialle grabbing a win in MX2. Febvre also took fifth in the MXGP class. On day 2, Febvre was second on the start behind Jorge Prado. By lap 6, Febvre was out front. Prado eventually stole the lead back and a side-by-side battle ensued until the finish. Febvre came on top at the checkered flag. The event features riders in three classifications- MXGP, MX2 and Open. Each rider is scored based on where they finished in the combined motos and scores are tallied to determine the winning team. Results for the US team included Tomac going 1-6 in MXGP, Sexton\u2019s 2-3 in Open and Cooper\u2019s 9-4 finish in the MX2 class. The decision was made as ongoing COVID mitigation efforts and travel restrictions presented logistical challenges for the team.\r\n\r\n\u201cA number of issues have contributed to the logistical difficulty of attending the 2021 Motocross of Nations, on both an individual and team level, and these have been exacerbated greatly by current and expected COVID-19 mitigation efforts surrounding the event,\u201d said AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier. \u201cDue to the sizeable financial risk faced by all the team stakeholders, and the unknowns in play here, we came to the unanimous conclusion that suspending our participation was the responsible decision.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe US team is an all-time leader in the FIM sanctioned Motocross of Nations. The event will be held September 25-26<sup>th<\/sup> in Mantova, Italy.
