Vehicles raced four laps on a 17-mile course that included the famous \u201croad crossing.\u201d The course features a high-speed straight section before it crosses over the pavement at Needles Highway. Usually by the time vehicles reach the pavement, they have enough speed to literally fly over the road. There were five heats each day. Guthrie was leading for the first four laps until he blew a shock causing him to fall back in the field. That opened the door for Ryan Piplic to take the lead. Piplic was being chased down by Dustin Jones until Jones lost power steering. Piplic would take the win.
