The annual race is headed to Cabo for the first time since the pandemic began. Last year\u2019s race was a rare loop, starting and finishing in Ensenada. The 2020 version was cancelled by COVID.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most iconic vehicles is running the in the rally. The original Big Oly that recently sold for over a million dollars is back in the dirt. The last time it raced, Parnelli Jones was behind the wheel. There are also several Myers-Manx vehicles in the rally.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Rally has no shortage of Baja legends competing. The course will take competitors south down the Baja Peninsula over five days ending in San Jose Del Cabo. The first day of racing takes the competitors into San Felipe. The \u201cWeatherman\u201d is a critical radio link to communications in Baja, assisting racers. Steinberger has participated in NORRA since it was resurrected in 2010.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019ve always loved being in Baja,\u201d says Scott. \u201cWhen I raced the Baja 1000, it was always a lot of stress. You went down there, and it was always something you had to tough out. You would hope to finish, but if you didn\u2019t your time was up. You would turn North, and go home exhausted; everything was just a blur. NORRA has the same racing challenges, but gives you several days to enjoy the entire Baja experience. You get to cherish Baja, and all the friends you make along the way. Typically, the race goes 1000 miles down the Baja peninsula, ending with a big party in San Jose Del Cabo.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nAfter registration and contingency was held at the famous Horsepower Ranch, the rally started in Santo Thomas, winding its way through the hills towards the Mike\u2019s Sky Ranch Loop eventually ending for the night in San Felipe. The next day vehicles took off towards Bahia De Los Angeles for some fun, fast sections along the sea of Cortez passing Puertocitos and Gonzaga Bay. The following day, vehicles launched out of Bahia De Los Angeles looping down towards Jesus Maria and turning back towards the start point. The race then headed back to San Felipe for another night.
