The series will be called Extreme H. Vehicles will race in the same days and locations with the same format as the existing Extreme E series.\r\n\r\n\u201cTogether with the current Extreme E Teams we will decide in the coming months the best way to integrate the Hydrogen powered cars into the racing weekend. Two separate categories, full transition to Hydrogen or joint racing are all options on the table,\u201d said Extreme E founder Alejandro Agag.\r\n\r\nThe Extreme H car will have the same powertrain and chassis as the Extreme E vehicles. The difference is the Extreme H car will have a hydrogen fuel cell that replaces the battery as the principal energy source. The series currently uses green hydrogen sources that use a combination of solar and water behind the scenes.\r\n\r\nA prototype vehicle is expected to be released next year.","excerpt":"

Extreme-E is a radical new competition that will race in damaged climates around the world using technology. The race is expected to be televised by using drones and onboard cameras. The purpose of the series is to bring attention to climate change.\r\n\r\nThe vehicles are 550-HP Oddessy electric SUV\u2019s. Drivers navigate a course on some of the toughest terrain on the planet via a virtual heads-up display inside the vehicle. Teams will be comprised of both a male and female co-driver. Each will complete a lap behind the wheel during the race.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cThis is a tremendous opportunity for me and something I\u2019ve been working my whole career for,\u201d said Sara Price. \u201cWhen you think of the name Chip Ganassi, you immediately think about winning. It\u2019s a team I\u2019ve long admired whether it be in INDYCAR, NASCAR, sports cars or rallycross. Chip\u2019s teams define winning. As a racer, that\u2019s the type of owner you want to race for. He\u2019s a former driver and I\u2019m honored to represent the team while also becoming the first female driver for CGR and Extreme E. The 2021 season seems far away but there is much to be done to get ready in a new form of racing and for the challenges the series presents. It\u2019s a very exciting time not only for myself, but for this championship and the climate and environmental issues it intends to bring attention to.\u201d\r\n\r\nPrice will be the team\u2019s first female driver in its 30-year history. Price has made a career for herself, starting on motorcycles at the age of 8. She quickly moved up the ranks, winning a medal in the X-Games.
