The event was held at the Southpoint Casino in Las Vegas. A silent auction to raise money for the organization as well as a walk of fame of off-road memorabilia was on display. This year\u2019s class of 2024 included 12 inductees who have helped shape, influence and change the off-road industry.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10938\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Shortcourse legend Johnny Greaves was inducted in into the 2024 Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nInductees included short-course legend Johnny Greaves. \u201cPistol\u201d Pete Sohren who was killed in a non-racing accident in San Felipe in 2019 also made his way into the Hall of Fame. Ken Block who also passed away got his honors at the ORMHOF ceremony. Jon Nelson best known for his Nelson and Nelson Racing Products were used by legends such as Walker Evans and Larry Minor. Mike Pearlman, the son of Ed Pearlman resurrected the wildly popular NORRA Rally in Baja. Jon Rettie has had images published all-around the world, photographing the most well known motorsports events. Rettie will also be inducted posthumously after passing away in June. Douglas has been behind the wheel of just about every type of truck including Trophy Trucks, Pro-4\u2019s and stock trucks. Douglas has an entire resume of championships. Also inducted into the competition category is Evan Evans. Evans, the son of Walker Evans suffered an accident in 1989 that permanently put him a wheelchair. Evan Evans continued to race winning podiums and championships. Helen Fields passed away in 2015. She is being inducted for being an advocacy pioneer, working with several four wheeling groups. Scot Harden is also being inducted as an industry pioneer. Harden has won numerous races in Baja and the states on two wheels. Mary McGee has been known to break down barriers for female racers in the off-road racing sport and a role model to many.\u00a0 Tommy Morris has had a 40 plus year career in motorsports working with some of the biggest names in the sport. Morris was best known for his time at PPI\/Toyota Racing. Lee Sieck passed away in 2003. He was the driving force behind several grass roots racing events. The annual awards ceremony was held at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas owned by Michael Gaughan. Gaughan, an avid off-roader attended the ceremony. The event kicked off with a silent auction to raise money for the Hall of Fame. Board chairman Mark McMillin got the awards started with Bob Bower as the evenings host.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThis year\u2019s inductees have extensive backgrounds in motorsports. First up on the list was Randy Anderson. Anderson began his career working for Walker Evans building suspension parts. Lance Clifford, Yokohama\u2019s Vic Curl and Butch Dean also received their induction credentials and award. One of the inductees that is no longer with us is Mike Thomas. Thomas helped grow the Chenowth brand which sold buggies worldwide including the United States military.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nJim Fricker is the only co-driver to ever earn his induction spot on the Hall of Fame. Landfield started as a Southern California Ford dealer. He raced a Ford Bronco in the 1968 NORRA Baja 500. Over his lifetime, Landfield has used the knowledge and influence he earned from business and racing to help drivers, teams, promoters and sponsors achieve goals and promote the sport of off-road racing. Landfield owned the Enduro racing team which competed in the Mickey Thompson Stadium Series for 10 years starting in 1989.\r\n\r\nLandfield retired from driving full time in 1986 and hired Dave Ashley to drive and manage the team. In 1991, Landfield created the Rough Riders and secured a major sponsorship deal from Ford Motor Company. Steve Kelley helped SCORE and Sal Fish establish rules in the early days of the series. Spencer Low is known for his development of mini-trucks. Low was also a Nissan factory driver for twenty years. Low passed away in 2019. John Marking spent 28 years at Fox Racing Shox, designing and manufacturing shock absorbers. Tim Morton has been serving off-road racers through his company, Baja Bound Adventures.
