Conner McMullen closed out the 2026 American Off-Road Racing Championship season in dominant fashion, scoring a pair of victories at the Laughlin Desert Classic in Laughlin, Nevada. Pulling double duty, McMullen won the Unlimited Truck SPEC class in his No. 240 truck while also filling in for Nic Whetstone in the No. 18 Unlimited Truck 2WD. He posted the fastest overall time in both divisions, completing the two-day Unlimited 2WD race in just 1:57:00.938.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_16529\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Tracy Graf at the Laughlin Desert Classic. Ciaran Naran claimed the Open Pro Motorcycle championship after sweeping the weekend and carrying a four-race winning streak into the 2027 season. Vild\u00f3sola confirmed that his recovery is progressing, but he will not receive the necessary medical clearance in time for the Nov. 9-15 Baja 1000, which will be held entirely within Baja California Sur for the first time.\r\n\r\nThe Mexicali, Mexico, racer suffered a compressed spine, fractured vertebrae and multiple ligament injuries to his back during a rollover at the Baja Nevada 1000 in June. Vild\u00f3sola credited his HANS device with helping protect him during the violent crash.\r\n\r\nThe injuries also forced Vild\u00f3sola to miss the SCORE Baja 400 in September. Andy McMillin used Vild\u00f3sola's No. 21 Trophy Truck for qualifying, but Vild\u00f3sola ultimately remained sidelined.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_16366\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Tavo Vildosola announced on the team's facebook page he would not be racing the 2026 Baja 1000. At issue is a proposed expansion of military training airspace \u2014 known as Special Use Airspace (SUA) \u2014 that could extend \u201csurface-to-sky\u201d restrictions over large swaths of Johnson Valley. Under such a scheme, the skies above the terrain would come under the control of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, effectively requiring civilian operators, including drone pilots and helicopter medevac services, to obtain permission before entering.<\/p>\r\nThe Marine Corps is seeking this SUA expansion as part of broader efforts to enhance readiness and secure airspace for training.
