The 450 main event began with Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen racing side-by-side. It wouldn\u2019t be long before Hunter Lawrence was in the mix for the top position battling Roczen. Near the final five minutes of the race, Hunter was able to make a pass to the lead and never looked back despite pressure from Webb and Eli Tomac. Red lights were immediately displayed slowing Shimoda down. Pierce Brown and Daxton Bennick came through the same section at race speed with no red lights displayed. As a result, Brown was able to pass Shimoda for the lead. Brown signed a deal putting him in the paddock with the team in the 250 class for Supercross, Pro Motocross and the SMX World Championship Finals next year.\r\n\r\nThe 22-year-old from Sandy, Utah finished third in the 2022 250SX East Championship and most recently came away with a victory at the SMX World Championship Finals in Las Vegas in the 250 class.\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019m stoked to be a part of such a successful team. Frank Latham has been named team manager after Max Lee stepped away from the team. Lee was team manager for two seasons.\r\n\r\n\u201cI'm excited for the new opportunity and new venture. By moving into this new role I hope I can make an impact, along with the team and the riders. I am very grateful that Troy [Lee] and the KTM Group are giving me this opportunity, the interest they've shown, and the support given to me in moving over to the Troy Lee Designs\/Red Bull\/GASGAS Factory Racing Team.
