Coming off the high of winning two Champ Off Road season championships on Saturday, Greaves went out during the Pro 4 vs. Pro-2 Cup event, battling through the carnage to bring home his fifth Red Bull Cup win. The Pro 2 vs. Pro 4 race is an all-out knockout fight in the final race of the weekend at Crandon.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10488\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" CJ Greaves celebrates his fifth Cup win.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nPro-2 roared off the line just ahead of Pro-4 to get the head start on the track. After a full restart, Mickey Thomas led the field. Greaves, driving a Pro-4 only needed half the race to catch Thomas. Unfortunately, a lap later, Thomas would be forced to pull off the track after a fire started in the cab. The pressure was off Greaves by that point as he cruised to another Cup win, celebrating with the signature shot gun and giant Red Bull Cup along with multiple checks. Greaves also scored a custom Boxo toolbox with his name on it.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10491\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Lorenzo Bonacci won his first Crandon World Championship beating out Dave Mason Jr in Pro Buggy.[\/caption]\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10492\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Lorenzo Bonacci celebrates a World Championship win at Crandon.[\/caption]\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10493\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Mickey Thomas was victorious during the Pro-2 World Championship race.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nOther races during the day included large checks and Championship rings. Despite Thomas misfortune in the Cup event, he still one the Pro-2 World Championship event. Lorenzo Bonacci beat Dave Mason to win the Pro-Buggy Championship. Kyle Greaves is only in his second weekend racing a Pro-2. The Kyle LeDuc Cup set Pro-2 trucks against Pro-4. Antigo was the location of Kyle Leduc\u2019s first career Pro-Lite win. It would only be fitting that Kyle Greaves who shares the same first name secured his first Pro-2 win in the Cup event.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_9806\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" CJ Greaves gets wins in his new Pro-4 in Antigo. The race started out with CJ Greaves leading the race. CJ would pull into the hot pits twice with truck issues. Eventually he ended up parking there and becoming a spectator. The carnage in the class continued as Kyle Chaney\u2019s truck caught fire. The safety crew was there in seconds to extinguish the flames. Jimmy Henderson went to battle during the race but broke after heavy contact with Johnny Greaves. Adrian Cenni looked like he would grab another win as he took the lead. A shredded rear tire would close that door, putting a Cenni a lap down after the hot pits. Johnny Greaves rolled causing body panels to fly everywhere. Andrew Carlson became the race leader but crashed after hitting a tractor tire in the infield. That put rookie Kainan Baker in the lead. Baker lost the lead and soon it was the battle of Johnny\u2019s. Johnny Holtger and Johnny Greaves would race to the finish. Johnny Greaves took the victory with Holtger coming in second and Cenni third. \u201cI wasn\u2019t going to let you win one before I won one,\u201d Greaves told Holtger at the podium.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-2, Ryan Beat had all his ducks in a row. Beat was out front early in the race and dominated. Beat put several truck lengths on his fellow competitors to hold on for the win. Over in Pro-Lite, the race belonged to Trey Gibbs. In the Pro Side-by-Side class, Kainan Baker got passed by Kyle Chaney 100 yards from the finish line. Jeb Bootle secured a win in the Pro Stock side-by-side class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nWith just a Sprinter Van and a trailer, Lorenzo Bonacci and his dad made the trek to Wisconsin all the way from Southern California to race a pro-buggy in the Championship Off Road racing series. The skies cleared, and the rain returned. That is the type of weekend racers had at the final Championship Off Road Race at the newest venue in the series- Mid America Outdoors. Located in Jay, Oklahoma, the track featured long sweeping turns and high banked elevation. Friday\u2019s practice and qualifying were rained out. Saturday, the track dried out enough to give racers a quick practice lap before racing began. Of course, being the final event weekend, championships were on the line. Saturday would be the only day for racing as another rainstorm rained out Sunday\u2019s event. That didn\u2019t stop the series from crowning champions.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro2 class, Cory Winner finally found redemption. In 2021, he missed the championship by a single point. He struggled again the following year. 2023 would finally be Winner\u2019s year. Consistent wins and podiums this season put Winner ahead of Mickey Thomas and Ryan Beat. When everything was fully tallied, Winner won the season championship by seventeen points. Ronnie Anderson came away with his first Championship Off Road win in Saturday\u2019s Pro-2 race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nCJ Greaves won his eighth Pro4 championship. Seven season wins including Saturday\u2019s race at Mid America Outdoors, put CJ way out front in the points chase and almost untouchable. Even with a new truck, CJ quickly got into the groove with new set up to make it screaming fast.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro Lite Championship always seems to come down to the last race. Kyle Greaves has been in the hunt. Trey Gibbs has also been right there to capitalize on every point possible. Kyle stayed consistent only missing two podiums the entire season. Even with Brody Eggleston\u2019s Saturday win, Greaves still came out on top in the final point standings.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nChad Rayford came out swinging in the Pro Spec class. Rayford spent the off-season changing an older Pro Lite truck into spec class rules, adding a new motor that fit the program. He went out got a podium the first weekend he hit the track. From there Rayford had consistent finishes throughout the season. Unfortunately, contact in Saturday\u2019s race kept him off the podium and gave Nick Visser a win. Rayford\u2019s season points lead was enough to earn him the final championship spot for the season.","excerpt":"

The schedule was packed with an entire day of Pro racing. Everything from Pro-4 to Class 11 to Ultra4 vehicles would have their shot at winning a large check and commemorative World Championship ring at the famed track.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe day\u2019s events got started with the Pro 4 class re-igniting the rivalry between CJ Greaves and RJ Anderson. The two battled door to door for several laps. RJ went on to claim the victory.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Next up was Pro-2. Cory Winner brought the momentum from a Saturday Championship Off Road series win into Sunday\u2019s race. Winner shot out to the front with an early lead and held off massive pressure behind from Jerett Brooks and the other highly competitive Pro-2 drivers. Winner would hold on for the win in a technical weekend podium sweep in the class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nFollowing up on the second race of the weekend for the Class 11 bugs, Cisco Bio was back out front tackling the high-speed jumps of Crandon International Raceway. Bio added another World Championship ring to his growing collection. In the Ultra4 class, it looked as if Paul Wolff was going to grab another win just as he done the night before in the rocks. Unfortunately, bad luck struck. Wolff and Loren Healy made contact coming off a jump in the front stretch. Wolff did all he could to save it but was unsuccessful. Meantime out front, Vaughn Gittin Jr was on the move to claim a Crandon World Championship win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nChad Rayford brought home his first ever World Championship win in the Pro-Spec class. In Pro-Lite, nobody had anything for the always consistent Kyle Greaves who celebrated with an oversize $5,000 check on the podium. Michael Meister came away with the Pro-Buggy win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe countdown to the final event of the day- the Red Bull Cup race had arrived. It was the race all of the fans and drivers were waiting for. The race pits Pro-2 against Pro-4 trucks. It\u2019s an all-out knockout door banging battle. The winner takes home a huge check, custom shot gun and of course gets to add their name to the perpetual Cup that lives in Crandon. Every driver wants these accolades and only the best survives. The first green flag flew with Pro-2 rumbling around turn one. Keegan Kincaid had the holeshot. A massive crash by Myan Spacarelli would cause a full restart. Once again, the flag was thrown for Pro-2. Kincaid navigated through the chaos to get another holeshot. Just seconds later Pro-4 trucks came roaring around turn one. As the laps ticked down Keegan stayed on the gas as RJ Anderson began to hunt him down. Mears who is normally found behind the wheel of a NASCAR Cup Car also has extensive off-road experience. Mears has raced Trophy Trucks in the SCORE Baja 1000 as well as Robby Gordon Stadium Super trucks. His dad, Roger Mears is also a Baja legend.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cIt's a really cool opportunity to go out and have some fun and do something I've never really done before. My roots are in off-road racing, starting in Mickey Thompson Super Lites as a kid and playing in the desert in side-by-sides, sand cars, and that sort of thing. Located in the upper peninsula of Michigan in the small township of Bark River, fans packed grandstands to watch racing on the 1.5-mile track. Speeds here reach in excess of 90 miles an hour.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the drivers finding some last-minute speed was Ryan Beat in the Pro-2 class. The race started with fifteen trucks on the lead lap. Zach Zakowski led a couple of laps early on before spinning around in a corner. Soon, Keegan Kincaid shot to the lead with heavy pressure from the rest of field. On the very last lap, Kincaid appeared to have a rear tire go flat. In the final corner, Beat shot to the lead, beating Kincaid by half a truck length for the win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-4 race was just as exciting. CJ Greaves and Adrian Cenni battled early on. CJ would be forced into the hot pits for a rapid-fire tire change. CJ managed to get back on the lead lap and quickly shot through the field to get back up front. \u00a0Next, it was Cenni\u2019s turn to change a flat tire. Cole Mamer moved into the lead until his truck quit, forcing him to pull off the track. Coming off the last round at Dirt City in Lena, Wisconsin over the weekend, consistent podiums were extremely critical for drivers.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-4 battle between Jimmy Henderson and CJ Greaves has been nothing short of epic. Both have battled door-to-door all season long. In Saturday\u2019s round, CJ claimed the top spot on the podium. Sunday\u2019s race saw CJ spending the entire time trying to catch Henderson with no way to pass him. Henderson grabbed a much-needed victory.
