Coming off the high of winning two Champ Off Road season championships on Saturday, Greaves went out during the Pro 4 vs. Pro-2 Cup event, battling through the carnage to bring home his fifth Red Bull Cup win. The Pro 2 vs. Pro 4 race is an all-out knockout fight in the final race of the weekend at Crandon.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10488\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" CJ Greaves celebrates his fifth Cup win.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nPro-2 roared off the line just ahead of Pro-4 to get the head start on the track. After a full restart, Mickey Thomas led the field. Greaves, driving a Pro-4 only needed half the race to catch Thomas. Unfortunately, a lap later, Thomas would be forced to pull off the track after a fire started in the cab. The pressure was off Greaves by that point as he cruised to another Cup win, celebrating with the signature shot gun and giant Red Bull Cup along with multiple checks. Despite Thomas misfortune in the Cup event, he still one the Pro-2 World Championship event. Lorenzo Bonacci beat Dave Mason to win the Pro-Buggy Championship. The race started out with CJ Greaves leading the race. CJ would pull into the hot pits twice with truck issues. Eventually he ended up parking there and becoming a spectator. The carnage in the class continued as Kyle Chaney\u2019s truck caught fire. The safety crew was there in seconds to extinguish the flames. Jimmy Henderson went to battle during the race but broke after heavy contact with Johnny Greaves. Adrian Cenni looked like he would grab another win as he took the lead. A shredded rear tire would close that door, putting a Cenni a lap down after the hot pits. Johnny Greaves rolled causing body panels to fly everywhere. Andrew Carlson became the race leader but crashed after hitting a tractor tire in the infield. That put rookie Kainan Baker in the lead. Baker lost the lead and soon it was the battle of Johnny\u2019s. Johnny Holtger and Johnny Greaves would race to the finish. Johnny Greaves took the victory with Holtger coming in second and Cenni third. \u201cI wasn\u2019t going to let you win one before I won one,\u201d Greaves told Holtger at the podium.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-2, Ryan Beat had all his ducks in a row. Beat was out front early in the race and dominated. Beat put several truck lengths on his fellow competitors to hold on for the win. Over in Pro-Lite, the race belonged to Trey Gibbs. In the Pro Side-by-Side class, Kainan Baker got passed by Kyle Chaney 100 yards from the finish line. Jeb Bootle secured a win in the Pro Stock side-by-side class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nWith just a Sprinter Van and a trailer, Lorenzo Bonacci and his dad made the trek to Wisconsin all the way from Southern California to race a pro-buggy in the Championship Off Road racing series. The schedule was packed with an entire day of Pro racing. Everything from Pro-4 to Class 11 to Ultra4 vehicles would have their shot at winning a large check and commemorative World Championship ring at the famed track.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe day\u2019s events got started with the Pro 4 class re-igniting the rivalry between CJ Greaves and RJ Anderson. The two battled door to door for several laps. RJ went on to claim the victory.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Next up was Pro-2. Cory Winner brought the momentum from a Saturday Championship Off Road series win into Sunday\u2019s race. Winner shot out to the front with an early lead and held off massive pressure behind from Jerett Brooks and the other highly competitive Pro-2 drivers. Winner would hold on for the win in a technical weekend podium sweep in the class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nFollowing up on the second race of the weekend for the Class 11 bugs, Cisco Bio was back out front tackling the high-speed jumps of Crandon International Raceway. Bio added another World Championship ring to his growing collection. In the Ultra4 class, it looked as if Paul Wolff was going to grab another win just as he done the night before in the rocks. Unfortunately, bad luck struck. Wolff and Loren Healy made contact coming off a jump in the front stretch. Wolff did all he could to save it but was unsuccessful. Meantime out front, Vaughn Gittin Jr was on the move to claim a Crandon World Championship win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nChad Rayford brought home his first ever World Championship win in the Pro-Spec class. In Pro-Lite, nobody had anything for the always consistent Kyle Greaves who celebrated with an oversize $5,000 check on the podium. Michael Meister came away with the Pro-Buggy win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe countdown to the final event of the day- the Red Bull Cup race had arrived. It was the race all of the fans and drivers were waiting for. The race pits Pro-2 against Pro-4 trucks. It\u2019s an all-out knockout door banging battle. The winner takes home a huge check, custom shot gun and of course gets to add their name to the perpetual Cup that lives in Crandon. Every driver wants these accolades and only the best survives. The first green flag flew with Pro-2 rumbling around turn one. Keegan Kincaid had the holeshot. A massive crash by Myan Spacarelli would cause a full restart. Once again, the flag was thrown for Pro-2. Kincaid navigated through the chaos to get another holeshot. Just seconds later Pro-4 trucks came roaring around turn one. As the laps ticked down Keegan stayed on the gas as RJ Anderson began to hunt him down. Round one of the series did not disappoint. Hundreds of race fans were already on the Johnson Valley lakebed for the prestigious King of the Hammers events and they were excited to see some door to door short course racing action.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro2 race, Ronnie Anderson was out front leading most of the laps. Even with caution flags Anderson stayed in front of the chaos. With just two laps to go a mechanical failure would end Anderson\u2019s day. Rowdy Ryan Beat capitalized on Anderson\u2019s misfortune and brought home the victory.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-Buggy, Lorenzo Bonacci had the fastest laps in his Bomber Eyewear machine. Bonacci managed to stay out front most of the race. In the Pro-Lite class, Connor Barry was out front for the first half of the race. Barry made a mistake opening the door for his competitors to pass him but during a mandatory caution, Barry shot right back to the lead to bring home the checkered flag.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the youth class, Modified Kart is always a highly competitive short course race. Cade Martin beat out sibling Talan Martin who finished second on the podium. Series Champions were crowned over the weekend at the final Glen Helen race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nSeven points separated Christopher Polvoorde and Madix Bailey. Bailey remained in a good position for most of the weekend. Sunday, Bailey would start out front and lead the field. He did everything he could to hold a charge from Polvoorde. In an instant, three laps into the race, Bailey rolled on his side in a turn. A full-course caution was brought out and the track crew righted Bailey, so he could continue on the lead lap. A lap later, heartbreak struck again as his race would end after contact with other trucks. Christopher Polvoorde went on to win the race and season championship.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most hotly contested battles right to the finish would be in Pro Buggy. It was an all-out track fight between Trevor Briska and Trey Gibbs. Both would charge extremely hard every lap right up until the final turn coming off a jump side-by-side. Briska got crossed up with Gibbs and ended up driving over him to finish the race. Gibbs was shut down. In a turn of events, race officials penalized Briska for rough driving and the championship was awarded to Gibbs.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nHusband and wife team of Jason and Corry Weller finished together first and second in points in the SR1 UTV class racing a pair of Can Ams. Dave Mason Jr cruised to an easy finish and championship in his eBay Motors backed Pro-2. Connor Barry locked up a modified kart championship. The pits were full for two-days of racing.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most competitive races both days was in the Pro Lite class. Saturday, Christopher Polvoorde went door to door with \u201cMadman\u201d Madix Bailey. In the end, Polvoorde took the victory. The story was different during Sunday\u2019s Round 6. Jimmy Weitzel qualified on the pole. Madix Bailey started just next door. When the green flag dropped, Bailey rocketed out front. Christopher Polvoorde got collected with other trucks in the middle of the field. He would do everything he could to claw his way to the front. Weitzel regained the lead and stayed there the rest of the race. Polvoorde managed to finish second with Bailey third.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro2, Ricky Gutierrez was back on the west coast racing the GAS series. Both days he beat Dave Mason Jr for the top spot on the podium. Matt Brister was number one on the podium in Round 5. He wasn\u2019t so lucky in Round 6 after mechanical problems. Points championships came down to the final two rounds.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nEliot Watson\u2019s weekend sweeps and eight consecutive wins earned him enough points to win the championship. Watson was out front in both rounds ahead of second place Matt Brister. In Round 9, Trey Gibbs was able to get around Matt Brister for a second-place podium finish.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nBrock Heger was out front in Pro-Lite in Round 9. Heger won the race wire to wire. Ronnie Anderson finished second with Cole Mamer finishing third. In Round 10, Heger had enough points for the championship, all he had to do was start the race and save the truck. Ronnie Anderson was out front. After several cautions, the dust settled, and Christopher Polvoorde made it to the lead and took the win.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe tightest points battle was in the Pro-2 class. Jerett Brooks came into the final rounds with the points lead. Doug Mittag started Round 9 out front. It wasn\u2019t long before Brooks came from behind to take the lead. Ryan Beat was able to get around Mittag for second. Mittag finished third. In Round 10, Cory Winner was the polesitter. Winner was quickly passed by Trevor Leighton who led several laps. Leighton spun out and got passed by several trucks. It wouldn\u2019t be long before Jerett Brooks found his way to the front. Doug Mittag wasn\u2019t having any of it and drove his way right to the front and stayed there for the finish. Ryan Beat took another second-place finish. Brooks ended up third. The event was held without spectators. Strict COVID protocols were required for the series to host the event which included social distancing and mandatory face masks at the venue.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn ProBuggy, Elliot Watson swept the weekend winning all three rounds. Watson now has six consecutive wins under his belt. Matt Brister was out front but could not hold off the faster Watson. In both Round 6 and 7, Brister would have flat tire issues.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nBrock Heger won both rounds 6 & 7. Christopher Polvoorde was out front early in Round 6, but a broken throttle cable would sideline his efforts. After several postponements, cancellations and rescheduling of venues, the series hosted opening rounds at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, fans were not allowed to attend the event. The racing however, was still exciting.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nSaturday\u2019s Round 1 Pro Buggy race saw Matt Brister secure his first national podium. Darren Hardesty and Eliot Watson took second and third. Cameron Steele was also back behind the wheel in the buggy class mixing it up with the seasoned Pro Buggy stars. During Sunday\u2019s Round 2 Pro Buggy race, Trey Gibbs took top honors with Eliot Watson in second and Dale Ebberts in third.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-Lite class, Cole Mamer was the top the qualifier in Round 1. When the dust settled, Christopher Polovoorde took the top spot on the podium. Ronnie Anderson took second and Maddix Bailey third. Round 2, Cole Mamer finally made it to the top spot with Brock Heger in second and Madix Bailey back in the third spot.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe best battles of the weekend happened in the Pro-2 class. Jerett Brooks was the top qualifier in Saturday\u2019s Round 1. The inversion found Ricky Gutierrez on the front row. As the green flag dropped, there was plenty of the usual door banging. Jerett Brooks took the victory, Ricky Gutierrez held onto second holding off Brian Deegan who was hot on his heels in the last turn, all the way to the finish line. Round 2, the gloves came off. Much more contact between trucks. Ryan Beat led several laps before a flat tire would force him into the hot pits. Beat managed to stay on the lead lap, while several others would not be so lucky.
