When the gate dropped in moto 1, Justin Cooper had the holeshot. It wasn\u2019t long before Eli Tomac, Jett Lawrence and Aaron Plessinger were up front. In the final five minutes of the race, Tomac got on the gas and closed in on Plessinger who had the lead. Tomac pushed ahead to win the moto. In the second moto, Cooper Webb grabbed the holeshot. Jett Lawrence wasted no time taking over the lead. With most riders just getting a few weeks off after a busy Supercross season the points chase for the Supermotocross World Championship continues. Jett is back on the track after an injury sidelined him during the Supercross season. Jett proved just how much he had recovered, going on to win the first moto with Cooper Webb finishing second and Hunter third. In the second moto, Hunter earned the holeshot. Jett wasted no time getting to the lead. As laps went on in the moto, Eli Tomac was running second applying pressure to Jett. Hymas went down midway through the moto allowing Haiden Deegan and Julien Beaumer to get by. Deegan remained out front all the way to the checkered flag. In the second moto, Tom Vialle and Beaumer were battling for the lead position. Joey Savatgy will NOT be on the starting gate. Triumph Racing announced it has parted ways with Joey Savatgy.\r\n\r\nA statement from triumph read: Despite extensive efforts to restore Joey\u2019s 250SX eligibility, it was recently confirmed the Georgia native would be unable to line-up for the 2025 250SX campaign. The statement from Triumph goes on to thank Savatgy for joining the team and everything he has done for them during the season.\r\n\r\nBoth teams have reportedly agreed it was best for Savatgy to continue his career with another team. Savtagy finished the Pro Motocross series 12<sup>th<\/sup> in the final standings. Savatgy had originally signed a two-year deal with Triumph. The Pro Motocross series landed back on the west coast at Washougal, Washington over the weekend.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10141\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]<img class=\"size-large wp-image-10141\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/2024-Pro-Motocross_Washougal-450-Podium-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> Chase Sexton celebrates his third consecutive overall Pro Moto win at Washougal. Photo: MX Sports[\/caption]\r\n\r\nAaron Plessinger grabbed the holeshot in the opening moto of the day. Sexton, who started outside of the top 10, wasted zero time making passes around multiple riders. His lap times got faster and faster. With just a couple minutes to go, Sexton had reached Plessinger and went on the attack. Plessigner fought back but briefly stalled allowing Sexton to get by and win the moto. In the second moto, Justin Cooper was out front. Jason Anderson made a pass for the lead until Chase Sexton came knocking on the door. A mistake caused Deegan to go down allowing Ryder DiFrancesco to gain second position. Deegan was able to get back into second but it wasn\u2019t enough to pass Vialle who took the moto win. In the second moto, Tom Vialle was back at it with another holeshot. Deegan attempted to get a run on Vialle again but was unsuccessful. As the laps ticked away, Deegan finally made a pass on Vialle using an alternate line. Deegan continued to extend his lead for the win. Deegan\u2019s 2-1 and Vialle\u2019s 1-2 finishes put both riders in a virtual tie. Deegan ended up with the overall as the second moto carries more weight. Jo Shimoda was clearly the fastest rider on the track and went after the leaders. Kitchen maintained the lead capturing his first moto win of the season. After a weather delay, the second moto got underway. Deegan was once again out front but contact with Chance Hymas would collect several riders including Deegan. Casey Cochran enjoyed the lead for several laps. Soon Kitchen would come knocking on the door and take the lead away. On Tuesday, Jett suffered a practice crash at his private training facility in Florida. Jett sustained a thumb injury that will sideline him from racing the rest of the Pro Motocross season.\r\n\r\nJett had been leading the points and on a winning streak. \u201cIt\u2019s obviously a bummer, but it\u2019s part of our sport,\u201d Lawrence said. \u201cIt was honestly a pretty small crash, but it is what it is. I\u2019ve been pretty lucky with injuries in my career so far, so I guess it\u2019s just my turn. I was happy with the progress we\u2019ve made in the championship since my setback at Hangtown, and I was excited to try and keep my championship. That obviously won\u2019t happen now, but I have a good team around me and will focus on getting healthy again and coming back at 100 percent. I look forward to cheering on Hunter and doing whatever I can to help him the rest of the series.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe fall took place on Tuesday, July 2, at the \u201cDog Pound\u201d (the Lawrence family\u2019s private training facility in Florida). Later the same day, Jett underwent X-ray and MRI scans, and it was determined that he had a torn ulnar collateral ligament, or UCL.
