The skies cleared, and the rain returned. That is the type of weekend racers had at the final Championship Off Road Race at the newest venue in the series- Mid America Outdoors. Located in Jay, Oklahoma, the track featured long sweeping turns and high banked elevation. Friday\u2019s practice and qualifying were rained out. Saturday, the track dried out enough to give racers a quick practice lap before racing began. Of course, being the final event weekend, championships were on the line. Saturday would be the only day for racing as another rainstorm rained out Sunday\u2019s event. That didn\u2019t stop the series from crowning champions.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro2 class, Cory Winner finally found redemption. In 2021, he missed the championship by a single point. He struggled again the following year. 2023 would finally be Winner\u2019s year. Consistent wins and podiums this season put Winner ahead of Mickey Thomas and Ryan Beat. When everything was fully tallied, Winner won the season championship by seventeen points. Ronnie Anderson came away with his first Championship Off Road win in Saturday\u2019s Pro-2 race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nCJ Greaves won his eighth Pro4 championship. Seven season wins including Saturday\u2019s race at Mid America Outdoors, put CJ way out front in the points chase and almost untouchable. Even with a new truck, CJ quickly got into the groove with new set up to make it screaming fast.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro Lite Championship always seems to come down to the last race. Kyle Greaves has been in the hunt. Trey Gibbs has also been right there to capitalize on every point possible. Kyle stayed consistent only missing two podiums the entire season. Even with Brody Eggleston\u2019s Saturday win, Greaves still came out on top in the final point standings.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nChad Rayford came out swinging in the Pro Spec class. Rayford spent the off-season changing an older Pro Lite truck into spec class rules, adding a new motor that fit the program. He went out got a podium the first weekend he hit the track. From there Rayford had consistent finishes throughout the season. Unfortunately, contact in Saturday\u2019s race kept him off the podium and gave Nick Visser a win. Rayford\u2019s season points lead was enough to earn him the final championship spot for the season.","excerpt":"

Anderson started on the pole position in Pro-4 and led every lap wire to wire at ERX Motorpark in Elk River, Minnesota. Anderson was even able to withstand the pressure of CJ Greaves for the win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"We don't do this all season, but we come out here and make it count,\" said Anderson. \"I'm really proud of my whole team for putting the effort in. It was a super fun race, and I'm just stoked.\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-Lite class, Kyle Greaves continued his success with a weekend sweep. Chad Rayford got redemption in Pro Spec securing his usual top podium spot. Cory Winner claimed the top spot on the podium in Pro-2. Winner has had podiums and has been close to winning, but the top of the box had eluded him until now. ERX is the one of those rare tracks where racing was run on a Friday. In the highly competitive Pro-2 class, Johnny Holtger claimed his first win of the season. Holtger was unstoppable, leading the race from start to finish. Each race in the class has seen a different winner on the podium. Rounding out the other two podium spots were Ronnie Anderson and Mickey Thomas.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nKyle Greaves was back on the podium in Pro-Lite at ERX. It didn\u2019t come easy for him as he had to work to gain the lead. Greaves lost the lead a few times before finally making a pass stick on Trey Gibbs who finished second. Madix Bailey came away with a third-place position.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nGray Leadbetter shut down Chad Rayford\u2019s winning streak in the Pro Spec class. Rayford had a misfortune, rolling his truck after hitting a rut. Rayford was forced to pull off the track to assess the damage.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-4 class, the battle ensued between CJ Greaves and Andrew Carlson. While ERX is Carlson\u2019s home track, Greaves was able to take the lead on the final lap for the win. After the race, both drivers were docked three positions for unsafe speed during a caution. Adrian Cenni finished in the third spot but could ultimately be awarded the win. Officials pushed back the schedule by an hour to get a busy day of racing in. It was decided that the track crew would work quickly, and podium celebrations would be eliminated to keep racing on schedule and get ahead of another rain storm that threatened Crandon all day.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nBoth Pro-2 and Pro-4 races would be run early in the day to accommodate the Cup race late in the afternoon. Saturday\u2019s winner, Keegan Kincaid opted not to run the Pro-2 event in order to save his truck. Unfortunately, per the rules, Kincaid would also not be allowed to run in the afternoon\u2019s Cup event. While track conditions were slick and muddy, Ryan Beat found the momentum he needed to claim the victory. Over in Pro-4, the battle brewed once again with CJ Greaves and Jimmy Henderson. This time things got heated. Greaves made contact with Henderson sending him into the wall with a flat tire. Greaves went on to finish in the top spot. Officials reviewed video of the incident and determined the contact was excessive and as a result, Greaves was docked three positions, knocking him off the podium entirely.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-Lite class saw a new winner. Kyle Greaves was out front for most of the race until he got a rear flat. That allowed Trey Gibbs to claim the victory. Chad Rayford came away with his third victory in the Pro Spec class.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe rain held off long enough for officials to hold the final event of the day, the Potawatami Cup race, pitting Pro-2 against Pro-4. Ricky Gutierrez came away with the holeshot until Johnny Holtger took over the lead. Several laps later, Pro-4 driver CJ Greaves caught Holtger and made a pass for the lead. Greaves was behind the wheel of his dad\u2019s Pro-4, a truck he had never driven before. Greaves own truck suffered mechanical issues earlier in the day. Greaves went on to win his second back to back Cup event. His dad, Johnny took home back to back victories in 2017 and 2018. Just thirty minutes after the final podium celebrations, the skies opened up and Crandon International Raceway became soaked leaving crews to pack up in the rain.","excerpt":"
