\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-2 class, Ricky Gutierrez started \u00a0out front on the first lap. He held that position for several laps before Mickey Thomas came knocking on his back door. Gutierrez had steam coming out of his truck indicating things were getting hot. Literally! Gutierrez was able to get the truck cooled down temporarily during the mandatory caution. Thomas put the hammer down and the two drivers swapped lead positions bringing the crowd to their feet. \r\n\r\nIn Pro-4, the \u201cWildman\u201d Adrian Cenni put on a show for the fans. Swapping the lead back and forth with Jimmy Henderson, Cenni came out on top for a podium. \r\n\r\nPaul Wolff started on the pole position after Wednesday\u2019s qualifying session in the premiere 4400 class. When the green flag dropped, Wolff launched through the woods and never looked back. Less than halfway through the race, Wolff had already found himself picking his way through lap traffic. Wolff continued on a mission taking the checkered flag just two hours later followed by Brian Crofts and Vaughn Gittin Jr. Bad luck struck Loren Healy again. The 4600 stock vehicles ran Thursday afternoon at Visions. \r\n\r\nThe Scramble Series features a Pro class for experienced racers and Sportsman Class for amateurs and enthusiasts. The Scramble Series will return to some of the same locations next year with the final event held in the Glamis Dunes in Imperial County. Three new venues are also on the schedule including the Ranch Scramble in Decatur, Texas, Beach Scramble in Wildwood, New Jersey and Solstice Scramble in Anchorage, Alaska. \r\n\r\nLeduc finally saw two long-awaited wins this season in Pro 4. While Leduc has claimed spots on the podium this season, a win has eluded him until now. When the race got started, Leduc was outside of the top five. In the first lap, several trucks got collected in a crash. Leduc quickly moved into the top four. He sat patiently, moving around Adrian Cenni, then Scottie Lawrence right before the mandatory caution. This put him within striking distance of leader Cole Mamer. As the race restarted, Leduc jumped to the lead and stayed there for the victory. In Round 8, Leduc battled hard for his win. In the first turn, Leduc hit the wall sending him several spots back. CJ Greaves maintained the lead. On the second lap, Leduc once again hit the wall in the same spot, this time sitting on top of the concrete barrier. A caution would come out and Leduc was able to get himself back on the lead lap. Leduc then became a man on a mission, making immediate passes before catching up to CJ. Leduc made a pass on CJ after the leader went wide on a right turn. CJ would never be able to get his spot back. \r\n\r\nIn Pro 2, Mickey Thomas sat quietly while the leaders took themselves out. Thomas moved to the lead with Jerett Brooks hot on his tail. Thomas was able to hold off Brooks for the win. Doug Mittag is another driver without a win this season. That all changed in Round 8. Mittag found himself battling most of the race with Ricky Gutierrez. After the mandatory caution, Mittag put his head down and went to work checking out and cruising to his first victory of the season. \r\n\r\nPro Lite continues to be an extremely competitive class and the racing at Dirt City did not disappoint. Kyle Greaves and Brock Heger started out front, side by side. It was Greaves who would grab the early lead. Behind Heger and Greaves was Trey Gibbs. Gibbs wasted no time getting past the leaders but lost positions after spinning out. Heger and Greaves were back at it. Heger finally took the lead. Greaves slowed a bit but held of Gibbs to finish second. After learning some lessons in Round 7, Gibbs sat quietly for most of the race. Towards the very end he struck, passing the leaders and claiming a win. \r\n\r\nIn Saturday\u2019s Round 1, Ashton Williams held the top spot on the podium in the Junior 2 Kart Class. Mikey Childress was second with Olive Hoover third. Round 2 was drama filled as drivers got into each other leading to cautions. Two black flags were thrown for rough driving. Through it all, Lake Adler saw an opportunity to get to the front, holding on for the win.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2022GasRound1_2Victorville_TalanMartin-1024x683.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nIn Modified Kart, Talan Martin swept the weekend. On Sunday, the battle was between sibling Cade Martin. \r\n\r\nThe GAS event was a hybrid regional and national event. The usual Kart Classes, Buggy Pro-2, UTV and Pro-Lite classes were run alongside Class 11and mini-stock truck classes not usually seen at a national short course event. A limited number of spectator tickets were sold as fans were allowed to sit in the grandstands. \r\n\r\nMadix Bailey swept the weekend in the Pro-Lite class. In Pro-2, Trevor Leighton got around Dave Mason Jr for the win on Day 1. Mason took the victory on day 2. Trevor Briska was on the top spot on the podium Day 1 with Matt Brister taking it on Day 2.
