\r\n\r\nAfter several days of qualifying runs at the King of the Hammers, it was Paul Wolff who had the fastest time blasting through boulders bigger than the RV\u2019s on the lakebed. Raul has two back-to-back wins at the King of the Hammers. JP also won in 2024. \u00a0All of the brothers are highly competitive. Since then, Arciero has seen much success with the truck.\r\n\r\nNic Whetstone was the top qualifier and started out front leading over 400 miles of the race. Whetstone was forced to change a flat at the Rawhide Pit allowing Arciero to get by and bring home the victory.\r\n\r\nPreston Campbell won the Moto Open Pro class while Jason Coleman brought home the win in the 6100 Spec truck class by just a few minutes over second place Jack Olliges. The Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno event was also a points race for the Ultra4 series. KOH King JP Gomez beat his brother Raul Gomez in the 400 class. Raul flipped his vehicle on his lid on the last lap costing him valuable time, the lead and eventual win. Casey Currie moved to the lead but went down a broken driveshaft. Loren Healy also found himself in the lead before being forced to stop on the course with an issue. Soon, Kyle Chaney found himself ahead of all of the competitors and just miles from Hammertown with two rock obstacles left. Chaney blew a shock on his Can-Am Maverick UTV but continued to push through Resolution and Backdoor, taking the bypass. \r\n\r\nInductees included Evan Evans who was joined by his dad Walker Evans on stage. Walker is also a hall of famer showing this was a proud father-son moment. Scott Douglas also received his induction award for his contributions and championships in short-course and desert racing. Douglas joined BF Goodrich\u2019s Jeff Cummings, Scot Harden, Tom Morris, Russ Wernimont, Mary McGee, Helen \u201cSugar\u201d Fields and Lee \u201cFud\u201d Sieck. Fud passed away in 2004 and organizers decided it was time he receive an induction for his major contributions as a race promoter building the early careers of some of today\u2019s top desert racers.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/2023-ORMHOF_RaulGomez-300x200.jpg\")

\r\n\r\nSeveral impact awards were also given out at the ceremony. Raul Gomez picked up an award in the rock sports category. Cory Winner also won an award for his accomplishments in short-course. Seth Quintero took home the award in the desert category. \u00a0The final award- the Louis Unser never give up award was given to Chris Blais. Blais suffered a life-changing accident at the Best in the In the Desert Vegas to Reno race crashing on a motorcycle. Blais would never walk again and would neeed a wheelchair for mobility. That did not stop Blais. \r\n\r\nThe King of the Motos returns to King of the Hammers again in 2024. There will be two days of moto racing up some of the gnarliest rock faces at the Hammers. The very next weekend, desert cars take to the Hammers with two days of racing. The popular Class 11 showdown will also take place Saturday night, January 27th<\/sup>. \r\n\r\nTwo days earlier, Paul Wolff topped qualifying for the Race of Kings, the final event held during King of the Hammers for the Unlimited horse-power 4400 class. Jason Scherer who qualified second, held the lead for the entire 3-lap race. Gomez qualified fourth and kept Scherer in his sights.
