It was a move watched by many as a statement \u2014 the series is expanding its geographical footprint and opening up the title race to more regional involvement. <\/span>\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_14194\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Jimmy Henderson swept the weekend in Pro4 at Glen Helen. Photo: Champ Off Road[\/caption]\r\n\r\nHeading into the event, the championship picture was razor-thin. Drivers in PRO2, PRO4, SxS, and buggy classes all entered knowing their result in San Bernardino could make or break their season. On the PRO2 side, Ken Roczen \u2014 the motocross and supercross star \u2014 made his debut in the series, adding fresh intrigue to an already stacked field. From the opening maneuvers to the final checkered flag, battles erupted at every turn. Tricks, air time, wheel-to-wheel action and some strategic gambles all played roles. In typical Glen Helen fashion, drivers had to manage dust, blind crests, and uneven terrain all while pushing for max speed.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_14195\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Ricky G had a successful weekend at Glen Helen in Pro2 claiming the top podium spot two days in a row. While Henderson swept the weekend on the podium, CJ Greaves secured his tenth Pro4 championship of the night. Over in Pro2, Ricky G also swept the weekend. Keegan Kincaid came out on top in the season points battle and clinched the championship. The points were tight between Connor Barry and Holtger. While Barry did make it to the podium, luck was Holtger\u2019s side as he came away with the ProLite Championship.\r\n\r\nWyatt Miller brought home the championship in ProSpec, Chaden Minder in ProBuggy and Owen VanEperen was awarded the championship in the ProSXS class.","excerpt":"

Mickey Thomas who had been consistent on the podium all season stayed out of any trouble. A sixth-place finish for him at Crandon would earn him his first ever season points championship proving that his new truck build for 2024 was the perfect combination for success.\r\n

He earned his first ever Pro-4 victory on Saturday. CJ Greaves who has over a dozen Pro-4 Championships on his resume earned another one. It was a good day for Greaves who also secured the both the Pro Stock Side-by-Side and Pro Side-by-Side championships. Ricky Gutierrez struggled in the opening rounds at the Dirt City track back in June. This time around he had his truck dialed in. Ryan Beat was leading the race and was looking for another win until a tire let go forcing him into the hot pit. Ricky G seized the opportunity and took control of the field for his first win of the season. On Sunday, Cory Winner made it through all of the door-banging and contact to also secure his first win of the season.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10179\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Jimmy Henderson secures his first win of the season at Dirt City. It was there, season points champions were crowned. Several classes saw tight points battles coming into the weekend. Door to door racing would determine those that came out on top.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Youth and Kart classes, Declan Shields earned a season championship in the RZR 170 class. Over in the Junior 2 Kart class, Mikey Childress stood high atop the podium excited to win his championship trophy. Luke Berry won the Junior 1 Kart championship over rival Chase Berry. Talan Martin beat out Cade Martin by five points to secure the Modified Kart Championship.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the best battles on track this season was in the Pro Buggy class. Matt Brister and Zach Drapkin have neck and neck. Drapkin claimed his first championship in the class over Brister. Both fought hard this season for podium positions. Robby Hornsby took home final win of the season in Pro-Lite earning him the championship over Kyle Knott. The points battle was also tight in that class. In Pro-2 it was Ricky Gutierrez who the secured the top spot.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOther championship wins went to Cody Hodgson in Production 1000 UTV and Oliver Golding in the Production Turbo UTV class. Championship Off-Road hosted the season opener at the Roaring Lions Raceway in Antigo, Wisconsin. After a long off-season, drivers were ready to hit the track and do what they do best\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u2013 side-by-side door banging!\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Round One Pro-2, Mickey Thomas and Jerett Brooks went door to door for several laps. In the end, Thomas took the victory with a hard-earned podium. Sunday\u2019s Round two race was just as exciting. This time however, it was Ricky Gutierrez who inserted himself in the mix. For Gutierrez, the gloves were off and fought a hard battle to gain the lead and bring home a much-awaited win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro Lite class saw much of the same door to door battling each lap. Nineteen drivers took to the track. Brock Heger is the defending champion from last year he spent the first several laps chasing down Carson Parrish. After a yellow flag, Heger bucked down and it didn\u2019t take him long to find his groove out front holding off attacks in every corner. In Round two, rookie Connor Barry found his way to the front and lead some laps. Unfortunately, a couple of mistakes would erase his lead and when the dust settled, he finished shy of the podium. Brock Heger held on for the weekend sweep.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOver in Pro-4, the usual battle was between CJ Greaves and Kyle Leduc. As the laps ticked down, CJ had a comfortable lead earning the top spot on the podium with Adrian Cenni second and Leduc third. Sunday, Leduc did all he could to stay up front, but an issue would almost put him a lap down and send him to the back of the pack. A wild turn one crash by Adrian Cenni would send the field to a red flag. Leduc was able to get back into the mix. With a Green, White, Checker, Leduc went head to head making contact with Johnny Greaves. That contact caused Johnny to have tire damage resulting in a flat. By then CJ was way out front and cruised to another win. Leduc finished second.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe series heads to Crandon for the Spring Brush run in a couple of weeks.","excerpt":"

Championship Off-Road had plans to run rounds seven and eight\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, Wisconsin over the weekend. By Saturday afternoon, mother nature had other plans. Series officials were forced to delay pro racing until the weather let up and the track dried out enough. While the side-by-side races and Pro-Lite races were able to make it to the track, the decision was made to move Pro-2 and Pro-4 racing to early Sunday morning making for a full day for many.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRacing at Dirt City is always tight and technical. This marks the second year in a row Championship Off-Road has visited this venue. Some changes were made including adding new clay for better grip and a new table top on the front stretch.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nJohnny Greaves has struggled in the last several rounds to win in the Pro-4 class. He has however been consistently on the podium in either second or third. Greaves finally got his win this season in Round seven. The win finally marked Greaves\u2019 100th<\/sup> win in the class. Kyle Leduc was back out on top in Round eight. Andrew Carlson was out front when the race started. A rollover would shut down his hopes for a victory. Leduc cleanly moved through the field as the laps ticked away.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRicky Gutierrez introduced a brand new Mittag-built truck this season. Gutierrez started out front in Round seven and never looked back, even with an extreme amount of pressure from both Cory Winner and Jerett Brooks. This is Ricky G\u2019s first career Pro-2 win. Later in the day, Ryan Beat took home his second career win in the Pro-2 class leading every lap of Round eight.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOfficials were able to get laps completed in the Pro-Lite class before Saturday\u2019s rain delay. Madix Bailey was out front until the restart. Cole Mamer took that spot away. A mechanical failure would cause smoke to pour out of his truck with just three turns to go. Brock Heger took advantage of the situation to claim his sixth win of the season. In Round eight, Dillon Pointon finally got his first victory in the Pro-Lite class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nEveryone is laser focused on points as there are only four rounds left in the season. CJ Greaves leads Kyle Leduc by five points. Surprisingly, with only two wins, Ryan Beat takes the lead in Pro-2 points. The event was well attended by fans and the racing proved to be a success. After an extended off-season due to COVID-19, racers were happy to be back in the driver\u2019s seat.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nKyle Leduc took home a \u201cweekend sweep\u201d in Pro-4. He also celebrated a milestone 101 short-course career wins. Friday\u2019s round 1 saw Leduc cruise straight to the podium, leading all laps. Saturday, CJ Greaves was out front, but a flat tire forced him into the pits at the competition caution. Greaves stayed out on the lead lap still making the podium in third place.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nKyle Greaves had no issues sweeping the weekend in Pro-Light. This was Greaves\u2019 first weekend in the truck prepped under the Fabtech\/Winner Racing stable. The top qualifier had a successful weekend. Carson Parrish came away with a pair of second place podium trophies.
