\r\n\r\nOver in the car class, Carlos Sainz had an early overall lead and stayed there all the way to the finish. Sainz who started racing at the Dakar Rally now becomes the oldest winner in the history of the event. \r\n\r\nThe four wheeled vehicles had a rough time in Stage two. The day belonged to Stephane Peterhansel in his Audi. Peterhansel has 14 Dakar Rally wins on his career resume.\u00a0 \u201cToday, we set a decent time and had fun in the cockpit, with nice tracks and dunes in the morning. No flats today, no navigation blunders either, so it was a good stage,\u201d said Peterhansel. Finishing in second was Sebastien Loeb.
