At 32 years old, Roczen became the oldest premier class champion in series history after surviving a winner take all finale against Hunter Lawrence.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_15517\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Ken Roczen takes command of the final moto of the Supercross season in Salt Lake City. Photo: Feld Motorsports[\/caption]\r\n\r\nEntering the 17th and final round of the season separated by just one point, Roczen and Lawrence lined up for a showdown in the 450SMX Class Main Event with the championship on the line. Lawrence grabbed the holeshot, but Roczen wasted no time taking control of the race, slipping past early as the crowd roared. With Roczen in command, the battle for the race win intensified behind him. Chase Sexton surged forward late, passing Prado before reeling in Roczen and taking the lead in the closing laps. Sexton went on to claim his second victory of the season and fourth consecutive Salt Lake City win.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_15519\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Ken Roczen won a hard-fought title as the series championship came down to a single point. Deegan claimed the holeshot and led early, but Davies used his speed through the whoops to close the gap. After a fierce back-and-forth battle, Davies made an aggressive pass for the lead midway through the race. Deegan attempted to answer back, but crashed twice, ending his bid for victory. Davies rode away to earn his sixth win of the season, while Levi Kitchen finished second and Max Anstie rounded out the podium.","excerpt":"

Jett secured the 2024 Supercross title at the final round in Utah. Jett rode the final moto very carefully as to not jeopardize his championship status, finishing seventh. Jett becomes the third rider in Supercross history to secure a championship in his rookie season. Jett won the outdoor motocross series title at the end of the 2023 season.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cI think it hasn\u2019t fully sunk in yet, but, I mean, we had times when we sucked really bad this year then also times when we weren\u2019t too bad, so, nah, [I\u2019m] super happy for the team and doing it for them. Moto riders returned to the track Sunday afternoon at Rice-Eccles stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. No fans were allowed, and special social-distancing measures were in place as crews had to wear masks.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nAs the gate dropped for the 450SX main event, Blake Baggett grabbed the lucky holeshot. Eli Tomac wasted no time clawing his way to the front of the pack, passing Cooper Webb in second, then Baggett for the lead. Tomac needed a win to stretch out his points lead over Ken Roczen who managed to finish third. Eight points now separate the two riders.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"It's so cool to get to go back to racing here in Salt Lake City and get back to riding and racing and doing what we know. Overall, awesome day there. The track got really slick at the end, lots of dust flying and lots of hunting for traction. I was a little slower early on, got to improve on that next time, especially if these guys up their game. So overall, really good day for points and just thanks to everyone,\"\u00a0 said Tomac.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Eastern Regional Lites class, Shane McElrath grabbed a win and extended his points leads.
