Tomac has 53 wins under his belt. The two riders made contact as they were battling for fourth with five minutes on the clock at the San Diego Supercross race. Anderson then brake checked Lawrence in a turn. Lawrence then waited for Anderson at the end of the race and had words with him then smacked his helmet. Aaron Plessinger secured a commanding win at Round 3 in San Diego Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium. The rider with the cowboy hat wasted no time moving to the lead ahead of Ken Roczen. During the 20-minute moto, Plessinger held off top riders such as Cooper Webb who ended up crashing and Eli Tomac. In the end, Bam Bam Barcia finished second. Plessinger will also get to wear his very first \u201cred plate\u201d going into the next round in Anaheim.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8652\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/2024-Supercross_San-Diego_Plessinger-Podium-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" \/>\r\n\r\n\u201cIt was a really good race, I just got a good lead and rode my own race and stayed up front. The top three were extremely close the entire time. Thrasher and Garrett Marchbanks battled for the lead. Last week\u2019s winner Jordon Smith was also in the mix. Tomac grabbed his second victory of the season at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego Saturday night. Behind Tomac, Cooper Webb brought home another second-place podium finish. The new stadium is the first time Supercross has been held there.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6402\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/2023SupercrossSanDiego_Podium-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nWhen the gate dropped in the 450 main event, Colt Nichols had the holeshot. Adam Cianciarulo made a quick pass on Nichols for the lead. It wasn\u2019t long before Cooper Webb moved into the lead but that was short lived as Tomac pushed his way to the front and put at least a 1 second on Webb for the rest of the moto. Cameron McAdoo made it to second at the halfway point with RJ Hampshire chasing him down. Hampshire eventually made a pass for a second-place finish. Chase Sexton was the latest winner over the weekend in San Diego. This is Sexton\u2019s first win in the 450 class.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4411\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/22Supecross_Chase-Sexton1jpg-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nSexton had the holeshot when the gate dropped but Marvin Musquin grabbed the early lead. Sexton wasn\u2019t having any of it and cut back under Musquin to get back out front and ended up staying there for the during the duration of the race. Eli Tomac and Dylan Ferrandis rounded out the final two spots on the podium. Tomac leads the season point standings by a single point over Chase Sexton who is also tied with Cooper Webb.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4412\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/22Supercross_SanDiego_Michael-Mosiman2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the 250SX class, Michael Mosiman also earned his first class win. Mosiman had the holeshot. Behind him a pile-up collected several bikes including some top racers. Hunter Lawrence made it through the mess and paced right in behind Mosiman. With just a couple minutes left on the clock, Lawrence got sideways in the whoop and crashed into the back of Mosiman\u2019s bike. Mosiman held on to win the race. The problem is, Webb hasn\u2019t won a race this season, until now. Webb was victorious at the latest round of Supercross racing in San Diego. Webb had an early lead at the beginning of the 450SX main event. Adam Cianciarulo was able to get to the front and pass Webb.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-426\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/SXSanDiego_Webb-Leading-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nCooper Webb was hot on Cianciarulo\u2019s trail and made several attempts to regain the lead. Finally, on lap 21, Webb made a successful pass. The win puts Webb third in the championship points standings.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-427\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/SXSanDiego_Podium-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\n\u201cI got into the lead early and then Adam made a good, aggressive move to the inside. I just kinda let him go. I knew the track was going to be hard to pass [on] and I knew it was going to be a long main event, so I was just kinda riding in there, tried to make a pass a few laps earlier but played cat and mouse which kinda allowed Blake to catch up, and I didn't want to do that. Man, it feels good late in the race to get that pass and the win, first one of the season,\" said Webb.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-428\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/SXSanDiego_DylanFerrandis-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nThe 250SX main did not disappoint again. Austin Forkner had the holeshot. He got passed but regained the lead on lap 5. With just over a minute to go in the main event, Dylan Ferrandis made a major move, diving to the inside of Forkner for the lead. Forkner temporarily went off track but was able to keep control for a second-place finish.
