Three hundred plus teams from around the world are expected to compete in the big race. A qualifying session will take place Tuesday November 12th<\/sup> for Trophy Truck, Legends and Spec Classes at an undisclosed location.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThis year\u2019s course \u00a0will start in Ensenada, working its way up through Ojos Negros and turning west towards the Pacific Ocean. The course moves along the coast before heading South East below San Quintin. The course meets up with the Sea Cortez near Catavina and head back up North towards San Felipe through some sandy washes, then skirting the mountain ranges up towards Laguna Del Diablo. It continues North through El Chinero and West of La Ventana, doubling back around through the mountaiuns out towards San Matias and back towards Ojos Negros. From there competitors will head back into Ensenada for the finish. Menzies has won the San Felipe 250, SCORE Baja 500 and 400. A Baja 1000 win has always eluded him until this year. Menzies once again teamed up with Andy McMillin to the get the job done. Also new to the team this year was Tavo Vildolsola who has miles of Baja Trophy Truck experience under his driving suit. This year\u2019s SCORE Baja 1000 was one of the longer, more grueling races than in years past. It was historic because the race started in La Paz and for the first time went north up the Baja Peninsula finishing in Ensenada, instead of its usual route south.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_8163\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Photo: Red Bull[\/caption]\r\n\r\n\u201cThis one feels really special. It took me over ten years to win the SCORE Baja 100 and to win the second-longest SCORE race in history, it feels pretty special. I had a very smooth first section, with no flats or anything, Andy had one flat in his part but did a great job too and Tavo went through San Felipe and all the bumps and the cold weather. There were well over 300 entries in the race. Coming in first in the moto class was the Honda 1x team of Juan Carlos Salvatierra, Shane Logan, Diego Llanos, Carter Klein and Corbin McPherson. While the attrition rate in the race was huge, there were still several class winners who persevered including Kyle Quinn in Class 1 and Riley Herbst in Trophy Spec. The spec class remains under technical review while SCORE officials continue to conduct post-race engine inspections. SCORE released the course map to prove it.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe race will run through 1,227 miles of Baja\u2019s best, most punishing and roughest terrain. SCORE is anticipating 300 plus entries for the race. The fastest entries are expected to finish within 22 hours. Racers will have 50-hour time limit to officially complete this year\u2019s Baja 1000. \u00a0Pre-running officially opens October 23rd<\/sup>.\r\n\r\nThe course begins in Ensenada and winds its way up towards Ojos Negros, then down towards Valle De Trinidad before heading out to the coast towards Colonet and south to San Quintin. It then heads inland to Catavina and south to Cocos Corner. The course passes through Bahia De Los Angeles trekking south to San Ignacio. At mile 750, racers are back running along the Pacific Ocean before heading over the to the Sea of Cortez and down to Loreto. The course then winds westward through Ciudad Constitucion and Insurgentes, finally finishing in the Baja Sur town of La Paz.\r\n\r\nActivities for the 54th<\/sup> SCORE Baja 1000 begin on November 15th<\/sup>.
