The event was held at the Southpoint Casino in Las Vegas. A silent auction to raise money for the organization as well as a walk of fame of off-road memorabilia was on display. This year\u2019s class of 2024 included 12 inductees who have helped shape, influence and change the off-road industry.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10938\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Shortcourse legend Johnny Greaves was inducted in into the 2024 Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nInductees included short-course legend Johnny Greaves. \u201cPistol\u201d Pete Sohren who was killed in a non-racing accident in San Felipe in 2019 also made his way into the Hall of Fame. Ken Block who also passed away got his honors at the ORMHOF ceremony. Marlin Czajowski also known as the Marlin Crawler received an induction into ORMHOF for always helping people out on the trail.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10940\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Mike Pearlman joins his dad Ed Pearlman in the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame. Sohren quickly rose to fame driving Trophy Trucks without the budget of the larger race teams. Czajkowski is best known for the \u201cMarlin Crawler.\u201d Block was best known as a Rally Champion, racing anything he could his hands on. Meantime Johnny Greaves who has dozens of short course titles and championships is still at it, currently racing in the Championship Off-Road Racing series. Jimmy Lewis brings multiple motorcycle wins and is currently in charge of NORRA\u2019s motorcycle rally program.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nRod Millen has raced professionally since the 1970\u2019s winning in every major race event. Jon Nelson best known for his Nelson and Nelson Racing Products were used by legends such as Walker Evans and Larry Minor. Mike Pearlman, the son of Ed Pearlman resurrected the wildly popular NORRA Rally in Baja. Jon Rettie has had images published all-around the world, photographing the most well known motorsports events. Rettie will also be inducted posthumously after passing away in June. Jimmy Smith has been involved in the off-road industry for over forty years, co-founding Ultra Wheels.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nEveryone knows Scott Steinberger, following in his dad\u2019s footsteps taking over innovations in communication at PCI radios and the infamous \u201cWeatherman Relay.\u201d \u00a0Evelyn Tallman-Duceshi is known as the \u201cPurple Lady of Pismo.\u201d She has been actively involved in recreational off-roading at the Oceano dunes in Pismo since 1960.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\u201cThe ORMHOF Gala is off-road\u2019s biggest night of the year. Started by Bob Steinberger in the 80\u2019s and passed on to son Scott, the team has braved the elements on Mount Diablo, the highest accessible point in Northern Baja to relay critical race information as well coordinate emergencies.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nScott Steinberger, CEO of PCI Race Radios, regrets that SCORE International underestimates the value in continuing this partnership. \u201cWe are saddened by SCORE\u2019s decision to end the partnership with the PCI Weatherman Relay service, which has played a vital role in ensuring the safety of off-road racers for decades. Both my late father and I have enjoyed serving the off-road racing community and we wish SCORE and its constituents the best of luck on race day. Staying awake for 40-50 hours on top of a mountain or in an airplane each race is not for the faint of heart. The \u201cWeatherman\u201d is a critical radio link to communications in Baja, assisting racers. Steinberger has participated in NORRA since it was resurrected in 2010.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019ve always loved being in Baja,\u201d says Scott. \u201cWhen I raced the Baja 1000, it was always a lot of stress. You went down there, and it was always something you had to tough out. You would hope to finish, but if you didn\u2019t your time was up. You would turn North, and go home exhausted; everything was just a blur. NORRA has the same racing challenges, but gives you several days to enjoy the entire Baja experience. You get to cherish Baja, and all the friends you make along the way.
