Each Labor Day weekend the best Short Course racers in the world converge on the small town of Crandon Wisconsin for a weekend of action-packed racing. Traditions are as important to the racers here as they are to the spectators and fans who come from all over to watch the races. Every year, a parade in downtown Crandon kicks off the weekend of racing. It\u2019s the opportunity for fans to get a photo and autograph with their favorite driver. Fans get to see race vehicles up close.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOpening ceremonies kicked off with 12 sportsman classes. The track action continued all the way into nightfall, ending with the Class 11 Baja Bugs. The bugs were back at Crandon for second year and they were once again a major hit. This year pro-drivers paired up with several of the bug drivers. On the very first lap after the famous land rush start one of the bugs would end up on its lid, temporarily shutting down the race. Out popped a dejected Keegan Kincaid. Kincaid was in the passenger seat for this one and never would get the chance to drive. Once the track was cleared, the Volkswagen powered-bugs got back underway. A mandatory caution was thrown for a driver change. When racing resumed a fierce battle developed up front between the team of Cisco Bio and Tanner Foust and the team of Brock Heger and Greg Shapiro\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the final lap Heger and Shapiro made one last push and secured the lead and the race win. \u00a0The team of Blake Wilkey and Jerett Brooks came in third.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe weekend of racing continues with points championships for the pros in the Championship Off Road Racing Series and culminates on Sunday with Crandon World Cup Day which will be broadcast live on SpeedSport.TV","excerpt":"
