[{"id":14186,"permalink":"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/2025\/09\/29\/glen-helen-hosts-thrilling-season-finale-of-championship-off-road-racing\/","title":"Glen Helen Hosts Thrilling Season Finale of Championship Off-Road Racing","content":"For the first time in series history, the Championship Off-Road finale was held on the West Coast, giving West Coast teams and fans a home-field thrill. <span data-state=\"closed\">It was a move watched by many as a statement \u2014 the series is expanding its geographical footprint and opening up the title race to more regional involvement. <\/span>\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_14194\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]<img class=\"wp-image-14194 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Champ-Off-Road-Season-Finale_Jimmy-Henderson-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> Jimmy Henderson swept the weekend in Pro4 at Glen Helen. Photo: Champ Off Road[\/caption]\r\n\r\nHeading into the event, the championship picture was razor-thin. Drivers in PRO2, PRO4, SxS, and buggy classes all entered knowing their result in San Bernardino could make or break their season. On the PRO2 side, Ken Roczen \u2014 the motocross and supercross star \u2014 made his debut in the series, adding fresh intrigue to an already stacked field. From the opening maneuvers to the final checkered flag, battles erupted at every turn. Tricks, air time, wheel-to-wheel action and some strategic gambles all played roles. In typical Glen Helen fashion, drivers had to manage dust, blind crests, and uneven terrain all while pushing for max speed.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_14195\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]<img class=\"wp-image-14195 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Champ-Off-Road-Glen-Helen_RickyG-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> Ricky G had a successful weekend at Glen Helen in Pro2 claiming the top podium spot two days in a row. Photo: Champ Off Road[\/caption]\r\n\r\nWhen the dust settled, Jimmy Henderson and Ricky Gutierrez emerged as the standout performers of the night. While Henderson swept the weekend on the podium, CJ Greaves secured his tenth Pro4 championship of the night. Over in Pro2, Ricky G also swept the weekend. Keegan Kincaid came out on top in the season points battle and clinched the championship. The points were tight between Connor Barry and Holtger. Anderson started on the pole position in Pro-4 and led every lap wire to wire at ERX Motorpark in Elk River, Minnesota. Anderson was even able to withstand the pressure of CJ Greaves for the win.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7467\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/2023ChampOffRoadERX_RJWin-822x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"797\" \/>\r\n\r\n\"We don't do this all season, but we come out here and make it count,\" said Anderson. \"I'm really proud of my whole team for putting the effort in. Winner has had podiums and has been close to winning, but the top of the box had eluded him until now. This time he led the race wire-wire, fighting off pressure from both Ryan Beat and Keegan Kincaid. Championship Off-Road had plans to run rounds seven and eight\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, Wisconsin over the weekend. By Saturday afternoon, mother nature had other plans. Series officials were forced to delay pro racing until the weather let up and the track dried out enough. While the side-by-side races and Pro-Lite races were able to make it to the track, the decision was made to move Pro-2 and Pro-4 racing to early Sunday morning making for a full day for many.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2944\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DirtCity21_JGreaves-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nRacing at Dirt City is always tight and technical. This marks the second year in a row Championship Off-Road has visited this venue. Some changes were made including adding new clay for better grip and a new table top on the front stretch.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2945\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DirtCity21_LeducPodium-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nJohnny Greaves has struggled in the last several rounds to win in the Pro-4 class. He has however been consistently on the podium in either second or third. Greaves finally got his win this season in Round seven. The win finally marked Greaves\u2019 100<sup>th<\/sup> win in the class. Kyle Leduc was back out on top in Round eight. Andrew Carlson was out front when the race started. A rollover would shut down his hopes for a victory. Leduc cleanly moved through the field as the laps ticked away.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2941\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DirtCity21_RickyG-Podium-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2942\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DirtCity21_RyanBeat-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nRicky Gutierrez introduced a brand new Mittag-built truck this season. Gutierrez started out front in Round seven and never looked back, even with an extreme amount of pressure from both Cory Winner and Jerett Brooks. This is Ricky G\u2019s first career Pro-2 win. Later in the day, Ryan Beat took home his second career win in the Pro-2 class leading every lap of Round eight.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2946\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DirtCity21_Heger-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nOfficials were able to get laps completed in the Pro-Lite class before Saturday\u2019s rain delay. Madix Bailey was out front until the restart. Cole Mamer took that spot away. A mechanical failure would cause smoke to pour out of his truck with just three turns to go. Brock Heger took advantage of the situation to claim his sixth win of the season. In Round eight, Dillon Pointon finally got his first victory in the Pro-Lite class.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2948\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DirtCity21_HegerPodium-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nEveryone is laser focused on points as there are only four rounds left in the season. CJ Greaves leads Kyle Leduc by five points. Surprisingly, with only two wins, Ryan Beat takes the lead in Pro-2 points. The series held rounds 5 &amp; 6 at ERX. The property was originally built for snowmobiling until track owner Chris Carlson decided he wanted to also host short-course racing. Over the last few years, the track has been expanded with big jumps, sweeping turns and a split lane that adds to the racing excitement.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2864\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ERX_Mickey-Thomas-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/> <img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2865\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ERX_Trevor-Leighton-Podium-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn Round 5 Pro-2, Jerett Brooks started side-by-side with Mickey Thomas. As the laps continued, Ryan Beat began pressuring both drivers in an effort to get to the front. Beat moved in front of Thomas and started coming after Brooks. Unfortunately, Brooks\u2019 truck stalled out and Beat took over the lead. Thomas and Beat would continue to battle door to door, but on the last lap something happened to Ryan Beat\u2019s truck and Thomas took his first Championship Off Road victory. Trevor Leighton was out front when the green flag dropped in round 6 and never looked back going wire to wire. Kyle Kleiman finished second.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2866\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ERX_Kyle-Leduc-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/> <img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2867\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ERX_CJ-Greaves-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-4 class for Round 5, RJ Anderson was out front, racing ERX for the first time. An over-rotation would open the door for CJ Greaves and Kyle Leduc to both make a pass for the lead. Anderson would later get tangled up with Johnny Greaves. Kyle Leduc ended up with the victory. CJ Greaves and RJ Anderson battled for the lead, back and forth. It wouldn\u2019t be long before Kyle Leduc inserted himself into the battle. Leduc would make a mistake and get counted right back out of the battle. When the dust settled Anderson bounced off k-rail allowing Greaves to keep forward momentum for the win. Kyle Leduc was able to get by Anderson for second.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2868\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ERX_Brock-Heger-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/> <img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2869\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ERX_KyleGreaves-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nBrock Heger claimed in another Pro-Lite win in Round 5. Just a day later in Round 6, Heger wasn\u2019t so lucky.
