Officials pushed back the schedule by an hour to get a busy day of racing in. It was decided that the track crew would work quickly, and podium celebrations would be eliminated to keep racing on schedule and get ahead of another rain storm that threatened Crandon all day.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7334\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/2023SpringCrandonRnd4-Henderson-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nBoth Pro-2 and Pro-4 races would be run early in the day to accommodate the Cup race late in the afternoon. Saturday\u2019s winner, Keegan Kincaid opted not to run the Pro-2 event in order to save his truck. Unfortunately, per the rules, Kincaid would also not be allowed to run in the afternoon\u2019s Cup event. While track conditions were slick and muddy, Ryan Beat found the momentum he needed to claim the victory. Over in Pro-4, the battle brewed once again with CJ Greaves and Jimmy Henderson. This time things got heated. Greaves made contact with Henderson sending him into the wall with a flat tire. Greaves went on to finish in the top spot. Officials reviewed video of the incident and determined the contact was excessive and as a result, Greaves was docked three positions, knocking him off the podium entirely.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7335\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/2023SpringCrandonRnd4_PL-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nThe Pro-Lite class saw a new winner. Kyle Greaves was out front for most of the race until he got a rear flat. That allowed Trey Gibbs to claim the victory. Chad Rayford came away with his third victory in the Pro Spec class.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7336\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/2023SpringCrandonRnd4_GreavesCup-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> <img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7337\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/2023SpringCrandonRnd4_CJ-Cup-Win-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nThe rain held off long enough for officials to hold the final event of the day, the Potawatami Cup race, pitting Pro-2 against Pro-4. Ricky Gutierrez came away with the holeshot until Johnny Holtger took over the lead. Several laps later, Pro-4 driver CJ Greaves caught Holtger and made a pass for the lead. Greaves was behind the wheel of his dad\u2019s Pro-4, a truck he had never driven before. Greaves own truck suffered mechanical issues earlier in the day. Greaves went on to win his second back to back Cup event. His dad, Johnny took home back to back victories in 2017 and 2018. Just thirty minutes after the final podium celebrations, the skies opened up and Crandon International Raceway became soaked leaving crews to pack up in the rain.","excerpt":"<p>The skies opened up over Crandon early Sunday morning to bring rain and soggy track conditions. The tight, technical racing at Dirt City kept racers on their toes. With the halfway point over in the season, points were critical. No one knows that better than Kyle Leduc.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5409\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ChampOffRoad_DirtCity_KyleLeduc-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nLeduc finally saw two long-awaited wins this season in Pro 4. While Leduc has claimed spots on the podium this season, a win has eluded him until now. When the race got started, Leduc was outside of the top five. In the first lap, several trucks got collected in a crash. Leduc quickly moved into the top four. He sat patiently, moving around Adrian Cenni, then Scottie Lawrence right before the mandatory caution. This put him within striking distance of leader Cole Mamer. As the race restarted, Leduc jumped to the lead and stayed there for the victory. In Round 8, Leduc battled hard for his win. In the first turn, Leduc hit the wall sending him several spots back. CJ Greaves maintained the lead. On the second lap, Leduc once again hit the wall in the same spot, this time sitting on top of the concrete barrier. A caution would come out and Leduc was able to get himself back on the lead lap. Leduc then became a man on a mission, making immediate passes before catching up to CJ. Leduc made a pass on CJ after the leader went wide on a right turn. CJ would never be able to get his spot back. Leduc sits 31 points behind CJ Greaves in the standings.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone wp-image-5410 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ChampOffRoad_DirtCity_MickeyThomas-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/> <img class=\"alignnone wp-image-5411 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ChampOffRoad_DirtCity_DougMittag-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn Pro 2, Mickey Thomas sat quietly while the leaders took themselves out. Thomas moved to the lead with Jerett Brooks hot on his tail. Thomas was able to hold off Brooks for the win. Doug Mittag is another driver without a win this season. That all changed in Round 8. Mittag found himself battling most of the race with Ricky Gutierrez. After the mandatory caution, Mittag put his head down and went to work checking out and cruising to his first victory of the season. Jerett Brooks continues to the hold down the points lead.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5412\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ChampOffRoad_DirtCity_TreyGibbs-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nPro Lite continues to be an extremely competitive class and the racing at Dirt City did not disappoint. Kyle Greaves and Brock Heger started out front, side by side. It was Greaves who would grab the early lead. Behind Heger and Greaves was Trey Gibbs. Gibbs wasted no time getting past the leaders but lost positions after spinning out. Heger and Greaves were back at it. Heger finally took the lead. Greaves slowed a bit but held of Gibbs to finish second. After learning some lessons in Round 7, Gibbs sat quietly for most of the race. Towards the very end he struck, passing the leaders and claiming a win. Brock Heger and Kyle Greaves are now tied in season points going into the next rounds at Bark River.\r\n\r\nPhotos courtesy of Proformance Media","excerpt":"<p>The latest stop on the Championship Off Road Tour was the Dirt City racetrack in Lena, Wisconsin.
