The series is instead replacing the 3-day event with a 1-day Silver State 300 race.\r\n\r\n\u201cThis was not an easy call,\u201d said\u00a0Bryan Folks, owner of Best In The Desert. \u201cWe put a lot of effort into developing the Nevada 1000 because we believe it has the potential to become one of the premier off-road races in the United States. However, the timing just isn\u2019t right. The last thing off-road racing needs is an event that doesn\u2019t draw enough participation to justify the investment. Instead, we are returning to a proven favorite\u2014the Silver State 300.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe date will also change on the race. The Silver State 300 will be held on May 10th<\/sup> and feature a 330-mile course with six pit spots. The course will also be faster this year.
