Round 2 delivered exactly what the SMX Playoffs scheme promised: tight races, big swings in momentum, and championship implications that carry into the final. Haiden Deegan, who had been leading the 250SMX points before St. Louis suffered a crash with Levi Kitchen on the opening lap of the second moto, damaging his front brake lever. With Shimoda\u2019s win and Deegan\u2019s setback, Shimoda now leads the points by 10 heading into the final round. A second-place finish in Vegas will be enough for Shimoda to clinch even if Deegan wins. Hunter, a SMX rookie in the 450 class, claimed the overall win at Texas Motorspeedway with a 1-3 score. Round 2 of the playoffs paid double points catapulting Hunter to the top of the standings. Sexton 4-1 score gave him the runner-up position. The final round could see a fierce 3-way battle between the Lawrence brothers and Sexton.
