Spaniard Tosha Schareina seized the Stage 9 win. Daniel Sanders who claimed the provisional overall lead after finishing solidly second on the stage, clawing back time and inheriting the top spot thanks to consistent pacing and resilience through the marathon. Portugal\u2019s Gon\u00e7alo Guerreiro remained firmly in contention, finishing near the front on Stage 9 to hold onto second overall. The stage is a marathon class, and competitors were allowed just a small amount of time to work on their vehicles before they were locked in impound. \u00a0In the bike class several riders including Ricky Brabec made navigational mistakes towards the end of the stage setting them back. Meantime, Sara Price claimed a stage win in SSV class. Price however is too many points down to win the overall. The Rally kicked off Friday with a Prologue. Competitors were right back on course on Saturday with the first official stage of the Rally, starting and finishing in Bisha. Photo: ASO[\/caption]\r\n\r\nThe story of the day belongs to none other than American Seth Quintero. The 22-year-old had stopped to help a competitor and was scored in first place. Quintero is competing on the Toyota Gazoo Racing team. In the end it was Daniel Sanders on top of the podium followed by Ricky Brabec and Ross Branch. Heger and Max Eddy are running the class in a Sebastien Loeb Polaris RZR. With two days left, Ricky Brabec took the stage win keeping him in the overall lead. Second place overall Ross Branch lost time today but is still in contention in the points.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8620\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/2024-Dakar-Rally_Stage-10_Sara-Price-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" \/>\r\n\r\nOver in the SSV class, Brabec\u2019s girlfriend Sara Price became the third woman to get a stage win at the Dakar. History in the making! Price sits second overall in points. In the Challenger class, Mitch Guthrie Jr continues to lead the overall standings and is very good contention to get a win at the Rally. Scrutineering begins January 1<sup>st<\/sup> in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Rally organizers have revealed the 2021 route. The rally will last two weeks. It will traverse 4,751 miles of some of the roughest Saudi Arabian terrain across 12 stages. This is the 43<sup>rd<\/sup> edition of the event.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1514\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/2021-Dakar-Map-Web-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" \/>\r\n\r\nEntries are still being accepted for the rally.
