Polaris is turning up the heat in the UTV racing war with the introduction of the all-new RZR Pro R Factory Boost, a purpose-built race machine packing as much as 400 horsepower and developed specifically for high-speed desert competition. Unveiled at Polaris\u2019 annual Camp RZR event at the Glamis Imperial Sand Dunes, the new RZR Pro R Factory Boost represents the next evolution of Polaris\u2019 race-proven RZR Pro R Factory platform. Polaris says the Pro R Factory Boost is built to go faster, run farther and withstand the punishment of long-distance desert racing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_16614\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" The Polaris RZR Pro R Factory boost is built by Geiser Brothers. Photo: Polaris[\/caption]\r\n\r\nAt the heart of the Factory Boost is a race-tuned, turbocharged ProStar Fury 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing up to 400 horsepower. The boosted powerplant is designed to deliver the acceleration needed for starts and passing while maintaining the power required to attack rough terrain at high speeds. The Geiser-built chassis stretches the wheelbase by 6.5 inches to 111 inches, improving high-speed stability and control. Polaris also increased tubing size in key structural areas to provide additional strength and stiffness. The cockpit is two inches wider, giving the driver and navigator more room while creating a feel closer to a purpose-built race car than a traditional side-by-side. The bodywork is constructed entirely from carbon fiber, helping reduce weight while improving aerodynamic performance. Polaris engineers used computational fluid dynamics to study airflow at speeds exceeding 100 mph, leading to a redesigned rear body profile and arched roofline intended to improve airflow at race speeds. A 45-gallon fuel cell replaces the previous 34-gallon system, giving the Factory Boost an estimated range beyond 200 miles and potentially reducing the number of pit stops during long desert races.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_16616\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" The Factory Boost uses three-inch FOX internal-bypass shocks. The Factory Boost uses three-inch FOX internal-bypass shocks with race-specific components and tuning, including upgraded one-inch shock shafts. The machine also incorporates Polaris' DYNAMIX DVS active suspension system, which manages 12 suspension channels in real time.\u00a0 The electronics package is built around MoTeC hardware, including an upgraded M150 ECU, C127 display and dual power distribution modules.
