\r\n\r\nAfter several days of qualifying runs at the King of the Hammers, it was Paul Wolff who had the fastest time blasting through boulders bigger than the RV\u2019s on the lakebed. Raul has two back-to-back wins at the King of the Hammers. JP also won in 2024. \u00a0All of the brothers are highly competitive. Since then, Arciero has seen much success with the truck.\r\n\r\nNic Whetstone was the top qualifier and started out front leading over 400 miles of the race. Whetstone was forced to change a flat at the Rawhide Pit allowing Arciero to get by and bring home the victory.\r\n\r\nPreston Campbell won the Moto Open Pro class while Jason Coleman brought home the win in the 6100 Spec truck class by just a few minutes over second place Jack Olliges. \r\n\r\nUp front, JP\u2019s brother Raul Gomez, a two-time and defending King was battling out front. Raul flipped his vehicle on his lid on the last lap costing him valuable time, the lead and eventual win. Casey Currie moved to the lead but went down a broken driveshaft. Loren Healy also found himself in the lead before being forced to stop on the course with an issue. Soon, Kyle Chaney found himself ahead of all of the competitors and just miles from Hammertown with two rock obstacles left. \r\n\r\nEvery year the top King of the Hammers racers qualify during an hour-long session known as \u201cPower Hour.\u201d\u00a0 Paul Wolff blew through backdoor during his session to qualify second overall. Wolff blew a transmission at the finish line sending the team to immediately go fix the problem and get the car ready for Saturday\u2019s race. Loren Healy navigated his Fun Haver Ford Bronco through the rock sections for a third overall qualifying spot. Healy has previously won the King of the Hammers and is a fan favorite for a win in the Race of Kings. \r\n\r\nThe race saw several lead changes. Loren Healy was the top qualifier but ended up having a mechanical issue on the first lap that took him out of the race. Next up, Paul Horschel took over the lead. Soon it was a tale of the Gomez brothers. JP held onto the lead to finish just a few minutes ahead of his brother Raul. Both enjoyed a little smack talk at the finish line. \r\n\r\nIn the end, Bryan Crofts came away with the 4400-class win. Crofts ran a near perfect race that put him on course for almost 2 hours, navigating through waterfalls, rock climbs and sometimes lap traffic that was stuck on the rocks. Points from the West series were totaled from April\u2019s Big Sky race in Montana, Visions which was part of the National Series and Crandon. Cody St Claire took home a win in the class at Disney. In the 4800 Legends class, Ryan Webb struggled all season and secured his first win at Disney. Jeremy Jones who was not present at Disney already had enough points throughout the season to earn the championship. Racers were allowed one \u201cdrop race\u201d this season.
