World Supercross announced Wednesday that the remainder of the 2026 championship has been canceled as SX Global, the series\u2019 commercial rights holder, continues discussions with potential investors.\r\n\r\nThe decision comes just two weeks after WSX canceled the scheduled British GP in Birmingham, England, citing the need for additional investment and short-term operational measures. The British round was originally scheduled for Oct. 10. With the cancellation of the British GP, the writing was already on the wall. Now the remaining rounds in Argentina, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand have also been scrapped, bringing the 2026 championship to an abrupt end.\r\n\r\nOnly the opening Canadian GP in Calgary was completed on Aug. 8. Cooper Webb took the SX1 victory, while Max Anstie dominated the SX2 class.\u00a0 The abbreviated season marks a major setback for a championship that entered 2026 promising an expanded global footprint across five continents. The original six-round schedule was designed to take World Supercross to Canada, the United Kingdom, Argentina, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.\r\n\r\nDespite the shutdown, SX Global insists the series is not necessarily finished.\r\n\r\n\u201cWorld Supercross remains in advanced discussions with potential investors regarding the future of the series,\u201d the championship said in its announcement.
