Ultra4 Racing Series Cancels Stampede Event Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Ultra4 racing has cancelled the Lasernut Stampede event which was to be held at the Prairie City OHV Park in Northern California. The event was originally scheduled for March 20th. The series released a statement saying, “we have consulted experts from a variety of fields and believe under the current circumstances our decision is ultimately what is best. We want to be clear that as of today we are not being forced to cancel this event by any involved authorities. However, with the uncertainty that exists surrounding the COVID-19 situation a last-minute mandated cancellation was probable.”

California’s Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a temporary ban of gatherings with 250 or more people statewide. Dozens of events have been cancelled across the country due to the COVID-19 coronavirus spread.

The Stampede event was the first of three Western Regional events to be held this year. Points from the Reno Championships held in October will count towards the cancelled regional series event.
