Lars Lindstrom has been promoted to the role of team manager for the factory Team Honda HRC motocross and supercross effort. Lindstrom replaces Erik Kehoe who officially announced retirement last month.
Lindstrom has long been involved with American Honda motocross racing, joining the team in 2000 as a shop assistant and working his way up the ladder. Lindstrom was most recently a 450-crew chief. Lindstrom has worked with Honda’s legendary riders such as Chad Reed, Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath. Lindstrom’s father AMA hall of famer Gunnar Lindstrom spent two years in 1979 and 1980 managing the Honda motocross team.
“I’m thankful for this opportunity that Team Honda HRC has given me,” Lindstrom said. “My nearly two decades with Honda have been great, and I’m excited for many more years to come. With my background, I feel I have the experience, knowledge and work ethic to be at the helm of the team. I’m also proud to have a personal relationship with every single Honda team manager since my father held the position, which is a huge reason for my passion and connection to the team.”
