Riders Sam Sunderland and Daniel Sanders will join the GASGAS factory Rally team for 2022. Sunderland is a former Dakar winner. He also won the FIM Cross Country Rally World Championship in 2019.
Sanders is in his second full rally season. He came in fourth at this year’s Dakar Rally. Both riders are busy preparing to race the 2022 edition of the Dakar Rally. After Dakar, the riders will campaign a full season in the FIM Cross Country World Rallies Championship.
“It’s great to have two very talented riders racing for GASGAS next season,” said Nord Stadlbauer, GASGAS team Rally manager. “They are at different stages of their careers, yet they both have the talent to win. Sam is very experienced, and his career achievements speak for themselves. He knows everything there is to know about rally and this will help him to succeed in 2022. Daniel only has one full season of rally racing under his belt, but he has picked things up really quickly. He doesn’t have the experience that Sam has but he’s a very quick learner as we have seen in 2021. They’re both fast, motivated, and capable, so we fully expect to see them battling for success at the Dakar and then in the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship next year.”
