SCORE Returns to El Malecon for San Felipe 250

Its official, technical inspection and contingency is returning to San Felipe’s famous “El Malecon.”  Start/Finish and pre-race activities had been isolated at El Dorado Ranch for the last couple of years amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

While things aren’t 100% back to normal like they were pre-pandemic, SCORE is moving in the right direction. Spectators will be welcome on the Malecon, but SCORE will continue to set-up a compound with fencing keeping spectators out. SCORE spent months of planning and numerous discussions along with evaluations with the Municipal Foundational Council, Private Sector representatives and Baja State heath officials. The purpose of the compound is to keep racers and staff safe.

“SCORE sincerely appreciates all of the dedicated effort by all concerned entities to ensure that this return to El Malecon will be conducted within Biosecurity guidelines while affording our amazing SCORE fans the opportunity to have closer viewing access to contingency and the start/finish line area of the race since before the global health pandemic,” commented Juan Tintos Funcke, SCORE General Manager. “This will be our first time back downtown since 2019 and all racers, crews, media and staff inside of the SCORE compound our being strongly advised to wear their masks for reasons of health safety.”
“We are excited to showcase the SCORE San Felipe 250 as a reflection of all of the health protocols we have adopted with the Mexican authorities over the past two-plus years.”
