Audi made headlines when it unveiled the RS Q e-tron last year ahead of the Dakar Rally. Audi was back in the headlines in March after the RS Q e-tron won its first desert rally in Abu Dhabi. Since then, engineers have been busy developing the next generation vehicle. Significantly improved for the 2022 Morocco Rally and 2023 Dakar Rally, the Audi RS Q e-tron E2 is much lighter and more aerodynamic.
The body has been completely redesigned, lowering the overall weight of the vehicle and improving center of gravity. Airflow was a huge part in the redesign process. The electric drivetrain has also been improved. Engineers also redesigned the interior and updated the displays inside the cockpit to allow drivers and co-drivers to select information and controls they need while driving in a rally.
The first rally event for Audi RS Q e-tron E2 is the Rally Du Maroc on October 1st.
