The 45th route for the 45th Edition of the Dakar Route has been unveiled. The popular 15-day rally returns to Saudi Arabia for the fourth time on December 31st. Set up along the Red Sea, 365 vehicles are expected to start the rally.
The route winds from the Red Sea to the sands of the Arabian Gulf in Dammam. The course winds into the north-western mountain regions before turning southeast into the ocean dunes of the Empty Quarter. Rally mileage will total 8,459-kilometers or just over 5,200-miles.
Additionally, the rally has announced the Dakar Classic which will allow vintage vehicles to race their own class. The Dakar Classic vehicles will run their own route but during the rally.
