Extreme E Stars Take on Race of Champions in Sweden

The Race of Champions is an annually coveted event featuring the best racing and world rally drivers. The competing drivers in the ROC event were Johan Kristoffersson, Sebastien Loeb, Tanner Foust along with former Extreme E drivers Mattias Ekstrom and Jamie Chadwick.

The event is held on the frozen Baltic Sea only 60 miles from the Artic Circle. Former ABT Cupra XE driver Ekstrom defeated Mick Schumacher by two heats in the Grand Final. Ekstrom brought home his fourth individual ROC title.

“The Race of Champions has meant a lot to me in my career. It’s very special to have four wins and even more special to do it in Sweden. I won my first final at the Stade de France in Paris against Sébastien Loeb, then I had two finals with Michael Schumacher in London and Beijing, so to see Mick in the final today was very emotional for me,” said Ekstrom.

Ekstrom’s teammate, Johan Kristoffersson said he was able to squeeze out some tips and tricks from his former competitor.
