Eli Tomac Wins Daytona Supercross

Eli Tomac has won the Daytona Supercross for the seventh time in his career. Supercross has been racing at Daytona International Speedway for fifty-three years. The race was a classic battle between rival Cooper Webb.

In the main event, Tomac had the holeshot but his lead was very short-lived. Webb took an outside line in the second corner and made a pass for the lead. Chase Sexton was running third. Seven minutes later, Tomac and Webb went at it. Both riders would swap lead spots at least four times. The two riders even made contact sending Tomac wide. This allowed Sexton to move in close and join the battle for the lead. Webb made a mistake, hitting neutral coming into the high-speed rhythm section. Tomac capitalized on the mistake and took over the lead.  When it was all said and done, Tomac won the race with Cooper Webb taking second and Chase Sexton, third.

In the 250 Eastern Regional class, Max Anstie was out front with the holeshot. Nate Thrasher took over the lead on the first lap, then Tom Vialle was next to lead a lap. Hunter Lawrence collided with Thrasher but was able to stay on the bike and claim the position. Thrasher went down and lost several positions. Lawrence continued his forward momentum and moved into the lead. Vialle soon crashed in the whoops losing his second-place position. At the checkered flag, Hunter Lawrence had won the race, just as his brother did in 2022. Max Anstie took second on the podium and Haiden Deegan finished third.
