The Championship Off-Road Series headed to ERX Motorpark in Elk River for another two rounds of racing. ERX is the one of those rare tracks where racing was run on a Friday. In the highly competitive Pro-2 class, Johnny Holtger claimed his first win of the season. Holtger was unstoppable, leading the race from start to finish. Each race in the class has seen a different winner on the podium. Rounding out the other two podium spots were Ronnie Anderson and Mickey Thomas.
Kyle Greaves was back on the podium in Pro-Lite at ERX. It didn’t come easy for him as he had to work to gain the lead. Greaves lost the lead a few times before finally making a pass stick on Trey Gibbs who finished second. Madix Bailey came away with a third-place position.
Gray Leadbetter shut down Chad Rayford’s winning streak in the Pro Spec class. Rayford had a misfortune, rolling his truck after hitting a rut. Rayford was forced to pull off the track to assess the damage.
In the Pro-4 class, the battle ensued between CJ Greaves and Andrew Carlson. While ERX is Carlson’s home track, Greaves was able to take the lead on the final lap for the win. After the race, both drivers were docked three positions for unsafe speed during a caution. Adrian Cenni finished in the third spot but could ultimately be awarded the win. Mike Steinhardt won Pro Buggy and Carlson took the top spot in Pro Turbo Side-by-Side.
