The Extreme E series held a season opening double header in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with the Desert X Prix. The event was held on the dunes and challenging sandy terrain. No other type of course on the entire Extreme E 2024 schedule is like the one run in Jeddah.
With multiple lead changes, Rosberg X Racing (RXR) secured the Round 1 victory. Drivers Johan Kristoffersson and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky worked together to get the car to the front. The duo battled with the NEOM McLaren team, swapping places for the lead.
In the second Round, Fraser McConnell and Laia Sanz came away with the victory for Team ASXE. The team struggled in Round 1 but got their redemption a day later. The team held the lead going into the Switch Zone for the driver change and held off the other drivers for the win.
