Alan Ampudia Leads San Felipe 250 Wire to Wire

He was the top qualifier. He started the race out front and never gave up his spot. Alan Ampudia brought home a win at the San Felipe 250 after leading and winning the SCORE San Felipe 250. Ampudia lead the field of 270 starters at the season opener. Ampudia was one of the few racers to finish penalty free with a time of four hours, two minutes and twenty-one seconds.

“It went really well. We had no problems at all. We kept it moving. We only had one main pit. That was the name of the game…just keep the truck moving and nobody would be able to get by us. The course was super, super fast and rough. That’s San Felipe! With the four-by-four in the silt it was pretty easy, but there were lots of rocks,” said Alan Ampudia.

After everyone else’s penalties were sorted out for missing VCP’s, speeding infractions and taking illegal course lines, Luke McMillin was scored in second in the Trophy Truck division. Gustavo Vildolsola won in the legends class while Thor Herbst enjoyed a win in the Trophy Truck spec class. Brad Wilson came away with a class 1 win and Cayden McCachren won in the Pro UTV Open class. Arturo Salas Jr was the overall motorcycle winner in the two-wheeled classes.
