Jett Lawrence Returns to Racing with Impressive SMX Round 1 Victory

Round 1 of the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs kicked off at zMax Dragway at Charlotte Motorspeedway. Jett Lawrence returned to racing after an injury sidelined him from the Pro Motocross series in July. It was like Jett never left. Jett secured the overall win after claiming victory in the final moto of the day.

In the first moto, Eli Tomac dominated. In second moto, Tomac led most of the race but after a fierce battle with Jett, Tomac had to settle for runner up. The results are determined by a score in both motos with heavier weight on the second moto. Tomac had a 1-2 finish and Jett a 2-1 earning him the overall.

In the 250 class, newly crowned Pro Motocross champion swept both motos. Deegan started towards the back to mid-pack, so he had his work cut out for him to get to the front even battling with Levi Kitchen for the lead. Round 2 of the SMX playoffs will be held September 14th in Fort Worth, Texas.
