Malcolm Stewart has earned his first 450sx career victory. Stewart won the Supercross race in front his hometown crowd at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. “I don’t know if they were twisting the throttle for me, because, for a split second, I was like, ‘Alright I need to get this done.’ I was feeling really good, and you know what, Stewart is back in the whoops, Y’all!,” said Stewart.
Chase Sexton had the lead for most of the race but as Stewart attempted a pass for the lead, Sexton went down hard in the whoops. Sexton would recover but not enough to hold on. Sexton dropped back several positions allowing Cooper Webb to earn second and Jason Anderson third.
In the 250sx class, Max Anstie had the holeshot but Pierce Brown quickly moved to the lead. Brown soon crashed hard bringing out a red flag. When the race resumed, Anstie was back in the lead and eventually brought home the victory.
