Walker Evans has died at the age of 86. Evans, known as one of the greats of off-road desert racing. Evans had a storied career winning multiple Baja and shortcourse races, and championships. Evans was even one of the inaugural drivers in the NASCAR Truck series that started in 1994.
Walker Evans drove for Dodge and Goodyear during their factory desert and shortcourse racing days. Evans started his desert career driving for James Garner in the 1969 NORRA Baja 500. Evans went on to win multiple races, eventually starting his own wheel and shock line with longtime friend Randy Anderson. The company quickly grew manufacturing OEM shocks for Polaris.

Everyone knew when Evans was in the pits. He wore a signature white cowboy hat wherever he went. Evans was inducted into the Off Road Hall of Fame in 2004.
