Hunter Lawrence emerged victorious in the 450 Class at the RedBud National on Saturday, overcoming a disappointing finish in the opening moto to secure the overall win with 2-1 moto scores during Round 5 of the Pro Motocross Championship.
Jett Lawrence captured the first moto but two crashes in Moto 2 dropped him to fifth, allowing Hunter to charge from sixth to the win in the final race and claim his second consecutive overall victory. Jorge Prado continued his strong form with a consistent 3-2 performance to finish second overall, while Jett Lawrence rounded out the podium in third.
In the 250 Class, Cole Davies extended his winning streak by earning his third straight overall victory. The Yamaha rider won the opening moto before finishing second to Jo Shimoda in Moto 2, giving him the overall with 1-2 finishes. Shimoda’s 3-1 score secured second overall, while Ryder DiFrancesco earned his first overall podium of the season in third with 6-3 moto results.
The Pro Motocross Championship now heads to Spring Creek MX Park in Minnesota for Round 6, with both championship battles tightening as the season reaches its midway point.
