Extreme heat, brutal track conditions and nonstop action highlighted a dramatic weekend of AMSOIL Championship Off-Road competition at ERX Motor Park in Elk Rive, Minnesota. The   2026 season has reached its halfway point. The heat index readings climbed well above 100 degrees, The track featured deep ruts, shifting racing lines and punishing impacts that produced spectacular crashes, mechanical failures and intense battles across every professional class.
The PRO4 division produced two very different winners over the weekend. On Saturday, defending champion CJ Greaves survived one of the wildest races of the season, overcoming multiple incidents and relentless track conditions to capture the Round 7 victory. Jimmy Henderson appeared poised to win before late-race misfortune opened the door for Greaves, who fought through the chaos to strengthen his championship position. Sunday’s finale proved just as dramatic. Mickey Thomas battled Jimmy Henderson, Andrew Carlson and returning star RJ Anderson before surviving a stop-and-go penalty for speeding under yellow. Thomas quickly reclaimed the lead and held off Anderson over the closing laps to earn his third victory of the season and his second win in as many race weekends. Greaves salvaged third after an unscheduled stop, while Henderson’s retirement allowed Greaves to take over the championship lead.
The PRO2 class also delivered memorable racing. Kyle Greaves captured Saturday’s opener after staying out of trouble while several frontrunners encountered problems in the demanding conditions. His victory further tightened one of the closest championship battles in the series. Sunday belonged to Johnny Holtger, who stalked Greaves throughout the race before making a decisive pass with only a handful of corners remaining. Greaves, nursing a failing power steering system, held on for second, while Jacob Rosales completed the podium with another impressive run.
Chris Van Den Elzen was the weekend’s dominant force in PRO SPEC. He capitalized on a late restart Saturday to score his second consecutive victory before backing it up Sunday with another commanding performance. Van Den Elzen’s weekend sweep extended his winning streak to three races and significantly tightened the championship battle with points leader Nick Visser. PRO LITE saw two different winners across the weekend. Connor Barry claimed Saturday’s victory after surviving a frantic battle, while Joey Maciosek led every lap on Sunday to secure his second win of the season despite constant pressure from Barry over the closing laps. Jordan Bernloehr also completed a successful weekend in PRO Buggy, earning victories on both Saturday and Sunday to build momentum heading into the second half of the championship.
