RJ Hampshire Joins Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati for 2027

Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing has officially signed Hampshire to a multi-year contract, bringing the former 250SX West Champion into the team’s developing premier-class program aboard the Ducati Desmo 450MX. The move marks a major change for Hampshire after seven seasons with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing. Husqvarna’s decision to shut down its factory racing operation at the conclusion of the 2026 season left Hampshire searching for a new home, and he quickly became one of the most sought-after riders available.

“I am super excited for this opportunity,” Hampshire said. “They wanted me here just as much as I wanted to be here. To start this relationship off with a newer team and a newer program, I am excited to give them my best for the next couple of years, be able to progress and put in the results.”

Hampshire has already had his first opportunity to test the Ducati Desmo 450MX, and the initial impression has been positive.

“I’m super excited for this Ducati Desmo 450,” Hampshire said. “Had my first day on it and I’m stoked and I’m walking away with a lot of positives.”

Hampshire enters the team with an impressive resume. He captured the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX West Championship, has four career AMA Pro Motocross 250-class victories and three 250SX West wins.
