Joey Savatgy Joins TLD Ducati on Multi-Year Deal

Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing has locked in its 2027 450 lineup, signing veteran Joey Savatgy to a multi-year contract and pairing him with RJ Hampshire as Ducati continues to build its presence in American motocross and Supercross. Savatgy’s arrival gives the Italian manufacturer an experienced 450-class racer as it enters its second full season of competition in the United States.

The new-look TLD Ducati squad will feature Savatgy and Hampshire for the upcoming Supercross, Pro Motocross and SuperMotocross World Championship seasons. Both riders are now secured under multi-year agreements, giving the team a stable foundation as it continues developing the Ducati Desmo 450 MX. Savatgy enters the program following one of his better seasons in the premier class. During the 2026 Supercross campaign, he recorded multiple top-five finishes and 12 top-10 results while finishing inside the top 10 in the championship standings. His season included a fourth-place finish at the Philadelphia Supercross.

“I am very excited for this change and honored for this opportunity,” Savatgy said. “I had a good year, and to have a factory team look in my direction and reach out is rewarding. To be back on a factory team is exciting, and I think the resources we have are a huge advantage,” he said. “There are a lot of doors we can open, things we can experiment with, and opportunities to find what works best.”
